i got my braces off yesterday and my gums have been swollen, my dentist told me this when he took them off, but didnt tell me what to do about it. i brush them and use mouth wash but its really getting annoying, my retainer is like an invisaline so it goes up onto my gumms and i feel its aggrivating it but i gotta wear it. do any of you know any tips on helping my gum puffiness go down? or will it just settle on its own, i dont want it to get worse.but to be honest it isnt that bad now, just bothersome to know they arent normal.

I've never had braces, but I think I heard that a teething ring (like for babies) might help to ease the discomfort. You might want to check with your dentist first though to see if ice/cold therapy is the correct thing to use. (He might tell you to put something warm on the outside of your mouth, like a warm washcloth)
