Israel engaged first in national liberation, then in national self-defense against multiple Arab nations bent on destroying Israel and removing all Jews. Absolutely. As Christian and a human being, I feel an obligation to defend any people who are unfairly attacked, including Jews and Palestinians. Right now, the Palestinians seem to be bearing the brunt of Israeli violence, but Hamas and its Iranian sponsors mustn't be ignored. I have spoken of the behavior of Israelis since before the forming of the country and throughout its existence. I’ve spoken of some in the diaspora who support the expansionist/genocidal behavior of Israel and of those who chose to remain distinct from their host populations thereby contributing to tensions and antisemitism throughout the last couple thousand years. I’ve said nothing about EACH and EVERY Jew. The closest I’ve come is to refer to Jews’ written history as one of genocide and Jewish supremacism.

As it is with all peoples, their history is not determined by the behavior of all or even most of them. It is determined and written by a select and powerful few, usually at the expense of the rest.

If these critiques of such behavior, that would easily be acceptable were they leveled at any other group of people, are forbidden because they involve Jews, then this is why the charge of antisemitism is no longer respected. Besides all that, I can appreciate and even be somewhat envious, even while morally disgusted, of their group strategy; ruthless destruction of every other ethnic group they encounter while claiming to be the victims of those groups at every turn.

Ever since the definition of racism was changed to mean that only whites can be guilty of it, the absurdity of it caused it to lose the fear that the charge once instilled. Whites can see the ethnocentrism that is a normal behavior of every genetic cluster of humans and even non-humans. Whites can also see that they are the only ones who are forbidden to practice it. Making sweeping generalizations about ethnic groups like "the Arabs" is , by definition, racist. Most of them are, like most of the rest of us, trying to get by with a semblance of security and well-being. The Israeli-Palestinian problem is far beyond my or maybe anybody's ability to solve, but continuation of the present course can only reinforce the stereotypes of Bocci and others like him about "the Jews". Will it go on until the end of time, or will rational people come together to insist on some solution short of mutual extermination?

The "war" referred to was mostly a call for demonstrations and an economic boycotts in response to Nazi gains in the Reichstag and Der Führer becoming Chancellor of Germany, and possible military action at a time when German and Japanese militarism was already evident. Violence against Jews by Hitler's Brownshirts had been going on since the early 1920s. Obviously, there was no real shooting war--not even an economic one--until Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia. "Silly nonsense " is a charitable description of Hitler's rantings against "Der Juden", and the views expressed in Mein Kampf..
