Lucky Charms with extra sugar piled on top. I know that defeats the purpose of pre-sweetened cereal, but hey, I make my own rules!
I haven't eaten cereal regularly in years, but my favorite when I was a kid was Peanut Butter Cap'n Crunch.
I haven't eaten any since I was a little boy. Dontcha know Trix are for Kids! Grow up...lol I only have museli with yogurt and a splash of juice these days. My daily go to is homemade hummus in the morning on a bagel.
When I was a kid (and maybe a little bit past that), I loved Cap'n Crunch, Fruit Loops, Rice Krispies and Trix. As I got older, I would still eat Corn Flakes and Frosted Flakes. I haven't had cereal in a long time though.
I don't eat sugar cereals... one must be nuts to feed them to kids! They are pre-wired already and don't need the sugar to make them crazy... let alone the GMO items they always insert into those deadly packets of ill health.
Almost all of these cereals ae banned from import into the UK, due to their use of corn syrup, a major cause of type 2 diabetes.
Glad to hear that @wilsjane! I can imagine that you never fed your kids that poison. But oatmeal! That is the best I add raisins instead of sugar if I want it sweeter.
The body can withstand small quantities of glucose and sucrose, the fist of which is directly absorbed into the blood. Fructose is not directly harmful in small quantities, but it does not taste sweet. As a result around 12 times the quantity is used and it is the harm from this saturation of raw carbohydrate that does the damage. Fructose cannot be used as a direct form of energy, so it is converted to glucose in the liver. In large quantities this permanently damages the production and control of adrenalin.
I'm probably the minority and thinking this but from my experience, most of the cereals, oatmeal etc doesn't give me any energy during the work day. But if I eat like a cheeseburger or something meaty for breakfast, I feel great throughout the work day and I have a lot of energy and I don't feel hungry until the evening. So maybe a cheeseburger isn't healthy for breakfast but if it gets me through the day better than anything else then it can't be bad can it? If I eat cereal oatmeal I'll be hungry as can be by lunch for sure but me digest slower so I just have more energy and can go without eating again until evening
