How many here actually pursue, or intend to pursue a science career? (Me for one, agricultural resreacher).
when i was in college i was majoring in computer science, but i droppped out so i guess that doesnt count.
Me! I definately plan to, thus far. Physics, specifically quantum physics. I'm totally serious about it, too. I was going to do music for a short while, or journalism, but that's not what I truly wanted to do. Besides, our future truly lies in the sciences. Those are the people changing the world.
I am doing postdoctoral research into creating an electrical anthrax detector. I am a biologist trying to learn chemistry and electronics.
My career is more in the area of engineering (electronic instrumentation design), than pure science, but I work for a research laboratory, designing and building equipment for field research in environmental science/oceanography.
I've done nearly 10 years as a post-doc in biochemical research. Certainly do it for the love of science and not the cash...and I want a Chair in Biochemistry of course
Im currently studying biology but I also have an interest in chemistry and astrophysics. Think I will have to stick to biology though due to I suck at advanced math (Diff Equ. etc.)
Ever since I was a kid, I've wanted to be a paleontologist. Now, I'm kinda veering to teachin Evolutionary Biology.
yeah im 16 and am planning a career in biology or astronomy. ahh science is so bitchin. i go to the alternative school in my district and for our senior year we get to study abroad for a semester. if anyone has any ideas on where i can go to study or anything awesome like that, give me a shout. peace
I am currently in college working on obtaining my associates degree in computer information science (programming). I am planning on continuing my education in software engineering, mathematics have always fascinated me to no end. The science and technology that we use, whether it is medical science, or the technology that aids us in our daily lives defines us as a society. Anyone that’s into technology and how it shapes who we are should look into Richard Thieme; his speeches never cease to amaze me. As he once stated “It is my job not only to take you to the edge of what your mind conceives as possible, but to give you a push once your at that edge”. p3@c3
I got my doctorate in Inorganic Chemistry in 94, taught for several years and founded the first nanotechnology startup in NC. Anybody want to invest? Jim
I'm majoring in Environmental engineering, but I have a huge, undeniable interest in astrophysics... so after I get my BAs in enviro. science and enviro. engineering, that is probably something I'll proceed with, and get another BA in that as well.
