does anyone know where i could find musicians to play with while in amsterdam? Maybe a park where minstrels gather or something of the like. We will be there for two weeks in may and i'm not sure i can go that long without playing somekind of instrument. any advice will be great. thanks aaron
Vondel park has some street musicians and what not as do the general streets. Most though, that I have seen tend to be more prolific in the summer months. I've also seen them at markets such as Waterlooplein and even around Dam square. I love seeing or hearing good street musicians in Amsterdam, it's very potent to listen to. Also love coming across 1 of the 9 barrel organs around Amsterdam too, great stuff all in all. Hopefully somebody can give you more detailed advice.
Check out The Waterhole in Leidseplein. They usually have Open Jam nights early in the week. I'm sure you could find out more information on the street scene by chatting with the people here. http://www.waterhole.nl/ Good Luck!
I think you mean something like a jamsession? Well, I know every last sunday of the month at http://www.badcuyp.nl Maybe you like to visit this swinging cultural place anyway and find musicians. And in the summer the Vondelpark is a good place but music is not allowed.
