    I first heard the above song on our LP to the Singing Nun by Debbie Reynolds as a kid. I always loved how it melded the two cultures, Catholic and African.

    It has an ironic story too. It has the Kyrie (which is Latin) and the Missa Luba (which is Congolese). Back then only places like Congo were allowed to say the Catholic mass in their vernacular. Now all countries do. But the Kyrie is the only part of the Catholic mass that is still in Latin. (I just find that ironic for some reason.)
