Crosswalks in Other Countries

I think the goal of a crosswalk is to make it visible to drivers as well as safe for pedestrians. In my state though there is new legislation to replace what previously restricted and penalized crossing at other junctions.

 

I hate those fucking things (not the crosswalk!)

 

One ridiculous experience -- Bangkok. Traffic lights that lasted 5 minutes. Crosswalk don't-walk signs that counted down from 300. (With constant traffic, no chance to cross until the light turned. 300 to zero). It was torture.
