So last week I went back to my exes house in a different state to visit my kids, go to the doctor and dentist and see my dad. While I was there I packed a small box with some odds and ends I wanted to bring back to my camper that I have been living in since most of my stuff is still being stored at the house. I had wanted to grab the tin of pre-rolled cones that I had but I couldn't find them anywhere, I finally gave up looking and took the pack of rolling papers that I never use instead. (I use them for smoking mugwort to help with dreaming, in case anyone was wondering, lol) I finished packing the box and put it in my truck, when I traveled back to my camper the box stayed in the truck, untouched for a few days. Today, I finally brought it in and began to unpack it. The tin of cones was inside it. No one had known that I was looking for them and had no reason to put them in the box when I wasn't looking. I have no idea how they got there but at least I have them now, lol. Have you ever had anything weird like that happen to you?
To make a long story short. We were taking a group of AWOL marines back to Cherry Point, NC a long time ago. About two in the morning we stopped for a break somewhere on Rt. 95. I had some acid wrapped up in a tiny little piece of tin foil in my pocket, about as big as your thumbnail, found a tree in the woods and took a leak. Stopped for gas around 4 and couldn't find the tin foil packet. Made it to Cherry Point by about 6 AM. Grabbed some sleep and headed home. Late in the afternoon, pulled over somewhere along RT. 95 to take a leak. Found a tree in the woods and as I was standing there the sun blinded me. Looking down I saw it was reflecting off of something on the ground.... Stuff like that.
Latest glitch: About 50 years ago i made a pen and ink "collage" of different objects and people. In the center was a drawing of Carrie Nation. Now Carrie Nation is not a person or name that crops up much. Carrie Nation, or Hatchet Granny, for those of you who don't know, was a temperance promoter way back before prohibition, in the late 1800s. She was known for smashing up bars with a hatchet. Here's a picture of her. Anyway I hadn't thought of her for 50 years, as I said. The other day I took the old drawing out to rework it...and this morning I randomly ran into her name in a trivia book I was reading.
