A long time ago in Major League baseball two Canadian teams ( Toronto Blue Jays and the now defunct Montreal Expos were looking likely to be challenging for the World Series - it seemed very suspicious the Expos being knocked out because it would have been an economic disaster for the American TV revenues along with the World series actually being played by two non american teams (how ironic)
