Trump's behavior is similar to that of TV evangelists.

They take their followers on a rollercoaster ride of falling into turmoil they manufactured for them (or made them believe by using a psychology job on them) and later 'saving' them from the turmoil they caused them. It's an ongoing cyclic routine that holds followers captive.

 

The latest with Trump is his tariffs on automotive imports. Now he's giving a partial reprieve on them if people follow a particular set of rules his administration concocted.

 

Another nasty move by Trump.
