    Trump, the global disrupter.

Only Trump can fix what he needlessly wrecks with his wrecking ball.

    excerpt:

“Donald Trump has launched a global economic war without any allies,” the economist Josh Lipsky of the Atlantic Council wrote on Tuesday. “That is why — unlike previous economic crises in this century — there is no one coming to save the global economy if the situation starts to unravel.”

Supreme Court says Trump admin must 'facilitate' release of man wrongly deported to El Salvador prison

    excerpt:

"WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court on Thursday said that the Trump administration is required to "facilitate" the release of a Maryland man who was wrongly deported to an El Salvador prison.

The court partly granted and partly rejected an emergency request filed by the Justice Department contesting a judge’s order that Kilmar Abrego Garcia be retrieved from a prison in El Salvador where he was sent on March 15 along with alleged Venezuelan gang members.

“The rule of law won today. Time to bring him home," Andrew Rossman, one of Abrego Garcia's lawyers, said in an email."

Louisiana immigration judge says pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil can be deported

    excerpt:

"While Rubio acknowledged that Khalil’s activities were “otherwise lawful,” he argued that letting him remain in the country would undermine U.S. policy to "combat anti-Semitism around the world and in the United States, in addition to efforts to protect Jewish students from harassment and violence.”

“Condoning anti-Semitic conduct and disruptive protests in the United States would severely undermine that significant foreign policy objective,” Rubio wrote in the undated memo."

Louisiana immigration judge says pro-Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil can be deported

    except:

“My arrest was a direct consequence of exercising my right to free speech as I advocated for a free Palestine and an end to the genocide in Gaza,” he wrote. “The Trump administration is targeting me as part of a broader strategy to suppress dissent. Visa-holders, green-card carriers, and citizens alike will all be targeted for their political beliefs.”

"This is what happens in a dictatorship, and these are test cases," Eric Lee, an attorney who represents Momodou Taal, a Cornell University PhD student whose visa was revoked, told NPR. "If the government can get away with doing this to these students, it can do it to everybody in this country. Your citizenship won't save you.”

    https://www.cnn.com/politics/live-n...ws-administration-tariffs-04-11-25/index.html

    excerpt:

US-China tensions: China has upped its retaliatory tariffs on US imports to 125%, escalating the trade war between the world’s two biggest economic powers. Chinese leader Xi Jinping struck a defiant tone, saying his nation was “not afraid,” while President Donald Trump’s trade representative called the retaliatory move “unfortunate.”

I'm starting to think he is lying the groundwork for an actual war with China so he can use that as an excuse to stay in power beyond 2029

Trump isn't going to like the idea of a line item at checkout informing consumers of how much of the price hike was due to Trump.

Consumers now face "tariff surcharges" for some goods as companies pass along costs - CBS News

    excerpt:

Fine also said she wants to be transparent with customers about what is happening, rather than quietly inflating prices.

"The intention of adding the Trump tariff surcharge as a line item at checkout was to remind people that this is an extra tax on us. I wanted people to understand why it's more expensive — that it's because of political decisions that were made," she said."

Trump will try to retaliate against them for not supporting his policies.

He's has already used such a narrative in court to try to deport a person at Columbia who was supportive of the Palestinians.

If reality was actually the same as Trump fantasies about his import tariffs supposedly bringing in hundreds of billions of dollars from other countries, the price at the checkout would be going down and Trump could put his name on the line item at checkout praising himself for the lower prices.

Trump likes his name on everything. He can have his name on the price hikes on store receipts.
