Someone is FORCING TRUMP to do all these things. He acts like he doesn't have a choice.

Considering all the current consequences, including his dropping poll numbers, plus those in the future, I don't see how he personally benefits from any of this.

He's hurting his base and most of the country. It could take years to recover, especially the loss of trust of the rest of the world.

I figure he's in payback mode, he owes Putin more than anyone, including Musk apparently or Putin has the compromat on him.

He probably owes many more Mar a Lago members favors, and every action of his has been paid for. What is it up to now? $5 million to join in on his corruption?

Trump supporters are having buyer remorse.

Joe Rogan, Dave Portnoy and Ben Shapiro are among Trump backers now questioning tariffs

    excerpt:

In a video posted Monday to his more than 7 million subscribers on YouTube, Shapiro reiterated that argument and said that the idea that tariffs are good and make us rich is “really problematic.”

“The idea that this is inherently good and makes the American economy strong is wrongheaded,” Shapiro said. “It’s untrue. The idea that it is going to result in massive re-shoring of manufacturing is also untrue.”

    https://www.cnn.com/2025/04/08/politics/melanie-krause-acting-irs-commissioner-resigning/index.html

    excerpt:

"Acting Internal Revenue Service Commissioner Melanie Krause informed her staff Tuesday she is leaving the agency amid internal chaos and the exodus of several senior IRS officials, according to two current IRS employees and one former IRS employee.

Krause’s decision to accept the agency’s deferred resignation offer comes on the heels of the IRS and Department of Homeland Security finalizing an agreement Monday to provide sensitive taxpayer data to federal immigration authorities to help the Trump administration locate and deport undocumented immigrants."

Trump plans to fine migrants $998 a day for failing to leave after deportation order

    excerpt:

"The Trump administration plans to fine migrants under deportation orders up to $998 a day if they fail to leave the United States and to seize their property if they do not pay, according to documents reviewed by Reuters.

The fines stem from a 1996 law that was enforced for the first time in 2018, during President Donald Trump’s first term in office. The Trump administration plans to apply the penalties retroactively for up to five years, which could result in fines of more than $1 million, a senior Trump official said, requesting anonymity to discuss non-public plans."

Tech analyst responds to Trump wanting Apple to make iPhones in U.S.: 'I don't think that's a thing'

    excerpt:

"Martin said Apple's costs would skyrocket if it began building its marquee product in the U.S. She isn't the only one on Wall Street raising this concern. Wedbush analyst Dan Ives said an iPhone would cost $3,500 if produced in the country.

Additionally, the process of Apple moving its supply chain to the U.S. would take years, Martin said. Most supply chain experts say making iPhones completely in the U.S. is impossible."

When Musk purchased Twitter, he sent out an email with the subject "Fork In The Road" that indicated he was going to fire Twitter workers.

He used the same "Fork In The Road" heading when he sent emails to federal workers that offered them a number of months of pay if they agreed to leave at the moment.

This time Musk is facing the "Fork In The Road."

He can stay with Trump and continue the thrill of firing more federal workers while at the same incurring hefty financial losses as the public continues to turn against him.

Or he can leave Trump and try to minimize his financial losses but forego the thrill of firing more federal workers.

People who weren't around in the 1980's and earlier don't remember how expensive some consumer goods like clothing and electronics were before markets became more global. People would break into houses, apartments, cars, and stores to steal items like TV's, stereos, and CB's.

People want to return to the good old days of 'Made In America' but without giving up the low cost of goods made by a global market.

Trump reportedly is considering a four-mile military parade for his 79th birthday, coupling it to the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army.

    The White House denies it.

Trump Orders Four Mile Military Parade for His 79th Birthday

    excerpt:

"A source in the capital told the Washington City Paper that Trump has earmarked June 14—which is the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army—for the event."

The U.S. is hosting the FIFA World Cup in 2026 along with Canada and Mexico.

2026 is also the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence.

The U.S. is hosting the Summer Olympics in 2028.

All will be within Trump's second term, spoiled by him and the extreme negative international atmosphere he has created, which may subject the U.S. events to being boycotted by other countries.

China is imposing 84% tariff on U.S. in response to Trump adding more tariffs on China on Wednesday for the retaliatory tariffs China had earlier imposed on the U.S. after it had imposed tariffs on China.

Like a casino person, Trump can be expected to say, 'I'll see your 84% tariffs and add another 84% on you.'

Trump's grievance goes back to at least 1987 when he took out ads in major east coast newspapers accusing other countries of ripping off the U.S.

Trump moves full steam ahead on politically risky tariffs despite market tumult

    excerpt:

Trump has painted what he calls "reciprocal" tariffs as retribution for a grievance he's held for "35 years" — that the U.S. is being "ripped off" by trade imbalances.

"Nobody but me would do this," he said in the Oval Office on Monday. "You know it would be nice to serve a nice, easy term. But we have an opportunity to change the fabric of our country. We have an opportunity to reset the table on trade."
