This past week I have been attempting barefoot more than 14 hrs outa 24hrs. I literally do everything barefoot and really enjoy them not clean I enjoy the feeling of textures and temperatures under my feet and feeling them getting harder and more resilient to environment. And you know I have not been this healthy in mindbody for a very long time. This weekend Im kinda working I plan on going on the ferry to Waiheki Island off Auckland doing my 'work' then coming back to Auckland walking around some filthy shops and streets and then maybe going to see my man. Im hoping he REALLY shows his appreciation for my barefeet lifestyle.
I had two ex-girlfriends (they both moved away) who I met while we were both barefoot in Greenwich Village (NYC). This was a long time ago when it was common to see barefooters on the city streets, in stores, fast food, etc. I remember saying to Suzy (the last one) "I see we like the same style and color shoes!" as we both had filthy black feet. Not uncommon for the streets of New York. Her mom used to go barefoot everywhere before they moved to the city. She had very calloused soles. I can't say we had a foot fetsih (it depends on one's definition I guess). She did like to stand on my feet if we were in a line or whatever. It would get the tops of my feet as filthy as her soles. Today you never see anyone barefoot on the street, in stores and so on :-( It is nice to be with someone who likewise enjoys the comfort and freedom of going barefoot.
This always comes up so let me be clear: Normal: nice feet (otherwise... since I'm male let's assume this is an opinion about a female, NOT saying it to them unless they ask) because of if they dress them up to be noticed. Don't even have to be a formal foot fetishist for that one. Normal, fetish: preference of appearance of toes, arches, soles... no different than butts or breasts, except it's feet. Borderline: they get turned on (depends on how obsessed they are with keeping a longer look at the feet, some even do follow those feet when they can which varies from worrisome to stalking... and not as a coincidence when walking along the beach), but that can occur with attraction to breasts and butts, so it's how they show or don't show it that matters. Disgusting: licking soles clean or in between the toes, deliberate sniffing of foot odor, being face stomped. Kinky to torture: tying up the feet, foot whipping, uncomfortable to painful heat on the soles.
... and just to be clear that sniffing foot odor is nose to soles; heat on the soles is when apply the heat someone else's soles, not heat training their own soles, not walking with someone heat training their own soles. Others may vary... but that goes beyond just festish as far as my opinion goes.
I wouldn't call it a fetish for me, I just like the sensuality of walking barefoot. I'm really looking forward to this summer.
I can understand. i hated anyone seeing my bare feet. Then when my foot was injured I found myself in the situation where I simply couldn't wear shoes. Either I shut myself away for ever, or just went out with my feet bare and learned to live with it. .
Since finding out I can paste the content of my personal Webpage here, I can share my thots on FOOT FOCUS, and limit it from the X-rated pix at the bottom of the page. While these articles are primarily for gay men, being bi, I also enjoy female feet. After having written three published essays about feet, I suppose there is a pattern here. Why not feet? It's another body part, a very sensual one to touch, so it should be included with the total experience of love. Women take offense at being scrutinized as nothing more than a piece of meat. But, what if we penis endowed can't help ourselves? Suppose that objectification is just the nature of male sexuality. Women who get their panties in a knot because straight guys look at their butt and breasts as sex objects, forget that gay men are busily objectifying other men as well. It is my contention that men are programmed to respond to visual stimulation and this genetic programming was hardwired into our simian brains and has stayed with us to this day. If it were taught as a fact of life that men like and need visual stimulation to feel robust, maybe there would be more sympathy for the roving eye that stops to scrutinize certain areas of the body. While there are women who also enjoy scrutinizing hard bodies, by far the most complaints for objectifying others are against men, so it seems to be primarily a male thing. It's very similar to fetishism, usually defined as deriving sexual gratification from inanimate objects or body parts. All indications are that women are rarely fetishists and that it too is a male thing. It has even been suggested that in our society, the male preoccupation with breasts would qualify as a fetish. Although there are a lot of psychobabble theories as to what causes fetishism, using such words as "psychosocial disorder" "transfer" and "displacements," no one seems to know exactly why some men get hung-up on specific objects to excite their passion. The usual fetish objects that men like are underwear, garters, leather, locks of hair, socks, shoes, and feet. To be a true fetishist one must be unable to achieve sexual stimulation and gratification without the object. By that criterion most of us guys don't qualify for this "psychosocial disorder," but by the number of leather shops and bars around, a lot of us must be playing at it. Perusing straight and gay erotica it appears that fetish is an amorphous term, determined only by degrees of stimulation. We may all possess a degree of being stimulated by an inanimate object or body part, and although we can get it on without seeing those white briefs and socks, leather straps or pierced nipples etc. we find the arousal more intense with the props. My latest exploration is the sensuality of feet. It is interesting that an ungainly body part as the foot should serve as a sexual focus, but it is one of the most common male fetishes. As an isolated body part, feet are right up there with hemispherical breasts or pecs and butts. From my own experience, I find the shape of the foot enticing. While walking along the quiet beach in the evening, it is a pleasure to see the bare footprints in the wet sand. There is an intimacy with an unseen person, a trace of another's presence left by the imprint of his foot. An intimacy surreptitiously connected when I place my foot where his once had been. Is this a near fetish appreciation of feet, or some ancient hardwired simian delight at discovering and tracking another of our kind? Consider the intricate beauty of a footprint, the balls of the foot, the rounded heel, the five little orbs aligned along the edge like so many berries. Round things are a turn-on for males of our species, whether it be well developed pecs, deltoids, breasts, biceps or butt ... or toes. Having much experience with giving full body massages, where I am allowed to touch those rounded parts, I find the foot as sensual as any. Perhaps the awareness of how my own soles are sensitive to touch, how they transfer sensations up the leg and into the groin, that makes me see the foot as a sensual part of the body. The foot is such a structurally unique object, yet analogous to the hand. When massaging the foot, the contours so readily fit those of the hand that it is an embrace of palm and sole, a merging of the sensitive skin of both, each enjoying the touch of the other. One of the theories as to why men are prone to fetishism is that they are more aroused by sights and smells than are women. According to the Kinsey Institute New Report on Sex, not only feet but the smell of feet is a common fetish. Some people can clear a room by removing their shoes. Foot odor, commonly thought to be caused by microbes having a feast in a moist, warm, dark shoe may be another of those natural stinks that have evolved with us, for I've smelled it on feet that have not been in a shoe for weeks. In an earlier age, the odor could have been a signaling device to other carnivores that we also ate meat. The unpleasantness of the smell, as with all our other natural odors, is a modern acculturated bias. Dogs, our fellow social carnivores who have a much more sensitive sense of smell, just love to lay on our dirty socks and often find our smelly shoes quite tasty. Those who have a real foot fetish seem to get off on the odors, as described by a young man in the Kinsey book. He is attracted to feet and does not understand why. He also especially loves "the smell of them and also their socks ... and shoes that are soaked with sweat from their perspiring feet." He masturbates nightly thinking about strong foot odor. This paraphilia sounds a little depraved, but hey, some people like to be tied up with leather straps, so who's to say. I've encountered some feet that had an overwhelming odor, that you just endure and get used to. Even on the cleanest foot there is often a trace of the acrid odor that wafts up as I massage it, but in these subtle amounts the odor is not only inoffensive, it often becomes pleasant, perhaps a reminder of the physical intimacy that I am having with this other person. This fascination with the importance of feet is not a new paraphilia of our uptight Western culture. The Hindus put particular emphasis on the feet, and touching the feet of a spiritual master is common practice. The feet are seen as representative of the whole body, subtly connected to all its organs, similar to the art of reflexology. Not only are feet revered for being the base of the entire body, but their sexual and sensual role is also acknowledged, and in some Hindu lore the feet are washed, anointed with oils, and worshipped. The Hindu philosophy, which gave us the Kama Sutra and represents the god Siva with a lingam (phallus) has a much more natural appreciation of the sensual realm. This same reverence for feet is alluded to in our own ancient mythos. In John 12.3, Mary sister of Lazarus, washes the feet of Jesus with an expensive ointment and "wiped his feet with her hair; (another common fetish by the way) and the house was filled with the fragrance of the ointment." In the next chapter of John (13) we have Jesus washing the feet of his disciples. Could John have been impressed with the sensuality of this act? "Jesus ... rose from supper, laid aside his garments, and girded himself with a towel. Then he poured water into a basin, and began to wash the disciples' feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which he was girded. ... When he had washed their feet, and taken his garments, and resumed his place, he said to them, 'Do you know what I have done to you? ... If I then, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet." Could a fascination with feet as an object of sensuality be connected to this cultural mythos? Perhaps by internalizing this story of the master, the dominant one, stooping to touch and cleanse the feet of those beneath him, some of us have formed a noble image of caressing feet - even dirty, smelly feet. Rather than a paraphilia caused by sexual suppression and displacement, this psychosocial disorder may be nothing more than foot worship with an emphasis on sensuality. Is psychobabble great or what? I will now leave this subject to go ponder whether a penis ring correlates to the Hindu practice of placing flower garlands on a lingam.
IOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOI Aesthetic Feet By Shale Stone January 2000 (Published The Naturist Gay-zette, Spring 2000) In June 1998 I wrote an essay on foot fetishism that was published in TWN, a weekly gay newspaper in Miami. It was later published in The Naturist Gay-Zette in the Summer 1999 issue. In that article I explored how such an ungainly body part as the foot should serve as a sexual focus. I wrote of the sensuality of the foot, being structurally unique yet analogous to the hand so that when massaging a foot the contours so readily fit those of the hand that it is an embrace of palm and sole, a merging of the sensitive skin of both, each enjoying the touch of the other. Then I continued describing the aesthetic appeal of the foot, the balls of the foot, the dip of the arch leading the hand to the smooth rounded heel, the five little orbs aligned along the edge like so many berries. To this description I added an illustration (Fig. A) of what I consider an attractive foot being massaged by two hands. This drawing was included with the article in The Naturist Gay-zette. When the article was published in the gay weekly, there was an illustration (Fig. B) that the editor threw in, a photo of a foot that was, in my opinion, quite ugly. The toes did not line up in a gentle curve along the front of the foot, but were scrunched together into a misshapen triangle. Also, the toes were not five little round berries, but were bent and shaped like kernels of corn. Where did this photo come from? Was it a file photo, perhaps from a podiatry textbook? Why else would someone photograph such an ugly foot? OK, so that rant was nothing more than a value judgment. We naturists have a creed that all body sizes and shapes are as valid as any other. The foot is a structural body part that performs a function and if the person whose foot was in the photo could walk on it, then it was as valid as any other foot. But the reality is that we all have standards of beauty. That's why there is an occupation called "modeling." Commercial models fit the consensus of what any given society considers the norm of beauty. Within that society there may be disagreement about those norms, and many do find the standard models quite unattractive, which proves that everybody is beautiful to someone else. But, not everybody is paid to be photographed to add appeal to a marketed product. There are models who specialize in body parts such as hands, lips, ears, eyes, and I would suppose feet. These are for close-ups or products that specialize in that particular body part. So, why would a company with access to foot models, choose an aesthetically challenged foot to put on a billboard? In December 1999 there was an ad on a Miami bus stop that displayed a five-foot foot (Fig. C). I don't know what they were selling, there was no product identified, just the message "Intended for Outdoor use" printed on the sole of this foot. Although it did not fit my ideal of an attractive foot, by the nature of its size and starkness on the billboard, this flat, triangular shaped foot with one protruding toe may have been used for its comic appeal in this cryptic ad. Perhaps my ideals of a beautiful foot are not the norm. Maybe there is popular appeal to the scrunched together angular toes, flat instep and narrow heels. I prefer broader feet with toes free and rounded, as if they are seldom inside the constraints of a shoe, but my ideal of fleshy, rounded soles, with high instep and toes aligned in an arch may be of the minority. There may be a fetish appeal for the scrunched up toes that have obviously been shaped by a shoe. One day at the nude beach at Haulover, I polled several of my acquaintances that congregate there to see if others shared the same sense of aesthetics about foot shape. I asked ten people, 8 gay men, 1 bi man, and one straight woman, to give their opinion on the three illustrated feet shown here. All ten agreed with me that the foot published in The Naturist Gay-zette (fig. A) was the most visibly appealing. The foot published in the gay weekly (fig. B) and the foot on the billboard (fig. C) were about evenly divided as to which was the uglier. However, visually appealing feet are an ideal that we are never guaranteed. If I were getting intimate with any of the men whose feet were portrayed, I'm sure I would have handled their feet the same as any other. IOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIO The Evolution of Stinky Feet by Shale Stone May 1996 (Published: Touchstone, Gainsville Florida, June 17, 1996) Some people have been known to clear a room by removing their shoes!! Offensive odors! That's the attitude most Americans take when confronted with the natural fragrance that emanates from our underarms and feet. It's as if nature played a cruel joke on us by making us stink, and it's costing us about one-and-a half billion dollars annually to rid ourselves of this national embarrassment. Aside from correcting the problem, most Americans have given it no more thought. Scientists, however, have known for a long time that nothing happens in nature without a cause and effect, including underarm odor. For decades the cause of underarm odor has been known to scientific investigators, and it was not just to cause us embarrassment. Apocrine, an oily substance exuded by specialized sweat glands when we are anxious or sexually aroused, is metabolized by certain bacteria living on the skin, producing androstenone, our peculiar underarm odor. It has been speculated that this odor, caused by the abundance of apocrine glands in the armpits and groin area after puberty, and enhanced by the hair that grows there at this time, is actually a sexual signal that has evolved with us. There have been several recent articles written about our natural fragrance, from those like my own "Odor Acceptance" in Nude & Natural, which dealt with the consciously smelled androstenone, to the more scientific studies in Discover and Psychology Today, that deal with subtle odors that influence mate selection by females, including humans. So, the rude awakening for so many people who thought underarm odor was nothing more than an offending annoyance, is the discovery that it has always been a part of our natural attraction and selection. Another common human odor, one that even I find offensive, is stinky feet. However, just as with underarm odor, there may be an evolutionary advantage to foot odor - not as an attractant but as a repellent - and I'd like to propose "Shale's Theory of Stinky Feet." I am not a scientist, and researching this subject has led me through dermatology books that are clearly out of my realm of comprehension, but if some anthropologists can venture to speculate that our evolution went through an aquatic stage because of our unique hairlessness and subcutaneous fat layer, then I feel my equally unproved theory should at least be considered. As with underarm odor, the medical profession sees foot odor only as a problem to be solved. They've determined that bromhidrosis, the fetid smelling foot odor is caused by the microbial breakdown of sweat and scaled-off skin cells which is aggravated by confining the feet in dark, damp shoes. These odors can include methane thiol, the cheddar cheese odor made by Corynebacteria, or odorous sulfur compounds produced by Pseudomonas bacteria, such as the cabbage smelling dimethyl disulfide, or methyl mercaptan, another cheese odor. Proteus bacteria can produce amine compounds which have a fishy odor. Judge at Rotten Sneaker Contest by Odor-Eaters Vermont, March 2004 Some people have been known to clear a room by removing their shoes with this cheese/fish/cabbage stew in them. Medical doctors prescribe anything from Epsom salts or tannic acid foot soaks, to alum powder in the shoes. Their only concern is to solve the immediate problem that assaults our modern civilized noses, and no one seems to be curious as to why our sweaty feet have their own peculiar odor that is different from other constricted sweaty parts of the body. Here's my theory. Our feet have their peculiar fetid odor because of the exudate contained in the sweat. Even if the culprit is microbial consumption of the exudate, which is exacerbated by wearing shoes, the compounds exuded by the eccrine glands on the soles are specifically designed to create the smell. Anthropologist Louis Leakey is attributed with commenting that early hominids were protected to some degree from other carnivores because they smelled so badly. He may not have been joking. Hominids have always been omnivorous or carnivorous and the odor would have been a familiar one to the feline and canine carnivores (who also sweat from their foot pads), because they could smell that there was another carnivore afoot. The specific odorants would be the by products of protein and fat metabolism contained in the sweat, such as leucine and carnitine. It is a fact that the nature of dietary lipids influence skin-lipid composition, so a diet rich in protein, palmitic acid and stearic acid (fatty acids found mostly in animal fats and some vegetable fats), would affect the composition of eccrine sweat on the soles of the feet. These sweat glands, as with the apocrine glands in the armpits, are also activated by anxiety, which would also indicate an increased distatefullness to other predators. So, the soles of our feet with their abundance of eccrine sweat glands could have evolved not only for traction, but as a territorial signal to other keen nosed carnivores, that to try to eat this creature might result in their being eaten instead. From my personal experience with hospital patients I've noticed a transient occurrence of the distinctive acrid foot odor on clean smooth feet that had not seen a shoe in weeks. Likewise, my own feet sweat enough in my shoes at work to give them a moldy odor from the microbes living there, but not the acrid and peculiar foot odor. My diet as an ovo/lacto vegetarian probably contains far less animal protein and fat than average. However, on occasions of ill-health or anxiety, that familiar odor does emanate from my feet, and I recall that my grandmother referred to "poisons" released by the feet. This was from the days when physicians would enter a sick room and start their diagnosis by the smell. Therefore, stinky feet may be more involved than the current assumption that they are caused by confinement in a moist microbial environment. There may have been an evolutionary reason for the sweaty soles of our feet to produce an odor not duplicated elsewhere on the body. And, as with our special underarm odor, "stink" is an aculturated value judgment. Check out the next puppy, who's imprinted as human, while he delightedly chews on yesterday's smelly sock. There was a softness and quiet about it and a sensuality to the print in the flips where my feet had rested. So, like the appeal of a sock with a dirt print of the foot on the bottom, my very used flips had the slight impression of my soles and toes, the mold of my foot preserved and displayed in the morning sun, waiting to be filled again by my bare skin upon the foam. I wouldn't doubt that if you put these used flips to your nose you could even smell the essence of my foot that had fixed itself to that foam. (especially the strap that rests between my sweaty toes in this hot Miami Beach sun.) So, enjoy the pic of a foot that is not there, except in imprint and essence.

Foot Love is Quite Common Maybe it is my total lovemaking that makes Popsicle Toes so erotic, but I have always enjoyed this smooth jazz piece by Michael Franks (same age as me BTW). It seems to be a song specifically addressed to someone and is VERY intimate. I have always found the metaphoric lyrics very sensual & arousing. Popsicle Toes Michael Franks 1975 And when God gave out rythm He sure was good to you. You can add, subtract, multiply and divide... By two. I know today's your birthday, And I did not buy no rose. Barefoot lifestyle and foot fetish are two inseparable things for me. I can say that I walk barefoot primarily because I have a foot fetish and I have a foot fetish also because I walk barefoot. Both of these hobbies are a union of something beautiful for me and that is why it brings me such intense pleasure. Being barefoot is very pleasant, healthy and comfortable, it is something natural and unconventional, a person breaks down prejudices, builds his own image. At the same time, it is something very exciting for me, which permanently activates my libido, keeps it at a pleasant level and makes me feel happy, peaceful and kind. That is why it is so beautiful to be a barefoot fetishist!
