A bit of a breakthrough this week. Up till now my barefooting has been something I have done alone when I have been away on business or out of town without my wife. If I take my sandals off and walk barefoot in the park with her she usually makes some sarcastic remarks. At the moment we are on a long holiday in New Zealand. Here it is unremarkable to go barefoot. Drive barefoot, go to the shops and supermarket barefoot, sight-see barefoot even eating in restaurants barefoot. My wife seems resigned to me going native and is not objecting. Maybe it will be a little easier even we get home... We have just come back from an outing to get something to eat. Visit to a fish and chip shop, a walk up and down the street and an evening visit to a big supermarket. Just a shrug from my Mrs.
I go garage saleing barefoot. Liquor store, bars, hiking, never walked into a nail salon bare foot. Walked around downtown Milaca Mn barefoot,Pine City on Pride Day,wore a skirt too.
It's great to see the barefoot community grow and see your small successes that push you forward in your barefoot adventures. Many of us have experienced the same feelings of anxiety in our barefoot beginnings. It's a nostalgic feeling to read posts like this and know that barefoot walking will eventually become something natural for you and many of you will practice it daily and with pride.
I love walking barefoot in public and I do love when people ask my why I’m barefoot and I tell them and they start going barefoot.
Yes. Thanks to bare feet we can start a lot of conversations and meet a lot of new people (some of whom may be potential barefooters). I also enjoy talking to people about my barefoot lifestyle.
Sure. As a barefooter, I try to come across as nice and cheerful, so normal people are okay with my decision. Other people sometimes comment on it, but I'm okay with it. I don't mind when people are curious, it's a good opportunity to introduce them to barefoot living, but most days no one ask at all, which is great. It's just that when people see that I'm okay with it, they don't care.
I had to go to Walmart and one lady said it’s great barefoot weather. I said yes it is and I looked down she was barefoot to it’s about time I see someone else shopping barefoot at Walmart.
Today I saw a guy take off his shoes and socks and he started walking barefoot at least I wasn’t the only one walking around barefoot it nice to see a young guy walking around barefoot.
In my old neighborhood I would sometimes see a young high-school age guy walking barefoot. It was usually in the afternoon, so I figured he was walking home from school. I don't know if he ditched his shoes and socks for the walk home or if he went to school barefoot. I never talked to him; I didn't want him to feel creeped out that an older man was checking out his feet. It was cool to see another barefooter though; now I never see anyone with no shoes or socks.
I know today it was weird that I saw this guy stop take off his shoes and then his socks put his socks in his shoes and started walking barefoot. It was nice to see I just wish more young people would go barefoot . But now days they all buy these expensive shoes or sandals and I do see a lot of young people wear socks with their sandals. You could tell he liked walking barefoot in public.
