I dunno. The woman I'm married to seems a lot different from me in certain pleasant respects, and has borne four of our children, which is something I couldn't begin to do. We think of ourselves as fully equal, but by no means identical. As the French used to say, Vive la différence.
Of course women and men are equal even posing the question seems odd.....although, I must admit there are certain activities that I greatly prefer men perform as opposed to women.....one such example is being soldier (I do realize there are some high competent female soldiers...this is just a personal preference)
Yeah--me too. I don't like women getting involved or having to get involved in the continual , hundreds of thousands of years old desire to kill that men seemingly think is necessary. Frankly, I think that a society that gives women guns, etc and expects them to kill is a lost society.
I saw news for Afghanistan's women today. I thought that something would have been said to the effect that their condition has improved such that education may improve.
Yeah, right. Welcome back to the dark ages, ladies, I guess you'll have to take that up with Allah with your husband's permission.
I have discovered Islam through my love for my ex. She couldn't marry because I wasn't Muslim. Without "conversion" I found their faith in God, their devotion, and their purpose to be inspirational. Much of their devotion requires though sacrifice. The burden is too great and I think it's bad to need "approval" from a spouse. There should be equality there... Sadly there is misunderstanding.
Let up??? What for?? Women are property as much as the goats are. They've lived with centuries of oppression, struggle, strife and war. Why would that change now? It's like Israel and Palestine fighting over that miserable stretch of desert. It's engrained into their cultures, their very beings.
I have a sick cousin... He is my age about and likely going to die; though I don't know his prognosis. He has a brain tumor. And so I thought of him yesterday as I went for coffee. And days before, I told my mom it's UCLA, not USC that offers better medical... (who knows if that's even true). What I realized soon after is the UCLA medical population reminds me of Judaism for some reason; far more than USC's. I don't and never have had any problem with Judaism, and when I was growing up, the most important step of my journey was at a boarding school owned by Mel Wasserman, who was Jewish. Many of my closest ever friends who knew the worst possible secrets of mine (because at the school, confessing these was important to our learning in behavioral modification and emotional growth; though not religious in the least. Only logical and practical...) were from Jewish families and were open about their Jewish faith with me. As I drove and thought about my cousin, I realized that in Israel I truly feel connected with Palestinians. It made my heart know something... But it also made me worry... would my cousin get the same medical care if the Los Angeles medical community knew my position in Israeli politics? There's an oath for that... But still, I thought about it. They shouldn't fight in Israel, and truly should embrace a neutral political ideology to allow for less bias in decisions.
this little attachment seems probably unrelated. One thing I noticed today's news reporting was Kim Kardashian has a really cool, new, and exciting direction! She is opening a private equity. Kim Kardashian launches her own private equity firm | The Hill I don't remember the focus, but the list was pretty lengthy. It seems versatile and business savvy, and truthfully I am glad to see such leadership and direction in their family and in the entertainment industry. It's beautiful because as inclusive and wonderful and enigmatic as it has been to have Kaitlyn Jenner's transformation front and center, it has been difficult to imagine how their family must cope, and while this is not related to that it shows them as so strong and survivors and capable. It's wonderful and beautiful. Go equality!
Equal rights and equal responsibilities women should have to register for the draft as well it’s only fair
Nobody should have to register for a draft--anywhere in any nation. But as long as humans remain so savage and war mongering---make sure the women get slaughtered too.
