I just play alternative rock right now. That could change, but its my favorite genre, so thats what I'll play the most.
I've also been into playing classical guitar...its funny cuz I try to jam out on some Segovia type stuff on my Yamaha!...I'll have me a nilon one of these day...lol!
I've been playing with lotsa effects too... hahah... I recorded my re-done improvised cover of the mission impossible theme with lotsa reverb... I kept running from pedals and leaning at my amp while continuously playing... delays, reverb, chorus, phasers, and flange out the ass... Fun to play with...
Yea, I need a pedal and a bigger amp (just usuing the little cheap one the guitar came with) but I have no money....so I'll have to wait...
For one thing, a lot of the Fender Twin Series can be a pain in the ass at times... Though, cyber-twins are known for their horrendous tube rattle and playing one with the master over five is like riding cross country in a 15 year old U-Haul truck.
I like the picking styles of John Denver, and Jim Croce. I've had to "Adjust" a few of the gp3 & gp4 files I've found to be played on a 12 string. Most are made for 6 string, nylon. I know for a fact, that MOST of John Denver's stuff was on a 12 string. You can only get strings for those in steel.
Yeah... someone needs to try and build a silk and steel or nylon 12 string... John Denver seemed to prefer Taylors over anything else, Jim Croce, Martins, so those are two different sounds on the spectrum in the guitar world, itself. With Denver, his music seems to be less ballad like at times than Jim Croce's, too, so that's also a reason. The 6 string Taylor John Denver Commemorative Models play like a dream... beautiful Hawaiian Koa, but only 185 were built. I've started liking Taylors more for their fingerstyle and fingerpicking ability, though, I don't agree with a lot of Bob Taylor's ways of conducting business or the way he treats his workers, at times. http://www.faziosmusic.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Tay0207
I really like Trey Anastasio.. he's controversial, though... he has some really nice solo stuff and does a lot of nice jazz...
I love Flamenco and there's only one man in the world that won my heart with it.... Robby Krieger....
I love using effects, I use a lot of delay and echo. I'd have to say a lot of my style was derived from Dave Gilmours playing.
