I cant sleep as when I lay down it comes back usually.... Does anyone know what this could be?? I have bene to doctors and no one can tell me what it is......... Is there any good medicine for sinus problems?? -- Or nervous system disorders?? I had brain damage when I was born and I wonder if it has something to do with it...... Thanx guys,I love you all so much!!
When I searched, I got a lot of results that say it could be due to anxiety and one result that said it could be a problem with a specific nerve, here is the article. Trigeminal Neuralgia.
If it's not an internal problem with your sinuses, consider external factors like allergies which can last a few days at a time, pollution if you are near a pollution source like wood stoves or chemical factory, or traffic and temperature inversions adding to pollution. Weather factors like humidity causing mold or mildew. Any of these can be likely cause, so be aware of your environment. Remedies include using an air cleaner, neti pot use, moving elsewhere. I would also consider diet. Excess salt or msg can cause headaches around sinuses. Keep track of what you are eating around the time the symptoms begin. Also, this time of year, wood stoves or gas use to heat can cause similar symptoms. When I get exposed to certain pollutants, I feel a numbness in one cheek. It's really weird.
Sorry that you're going through this. You might want to give acupuncture a try. This link has some info about it: Alternative Treatments for Physical and Mental Illness If it's trigeminal neuralgia, then acupuncture will very likely help. There's also a good chance it would help with other conditions too. If you get a diagnosis in Chinese medicine terms, I might also be able to make some dietary recommendations for you, though if your practitioner has recommendations that would probably be even better. If you don't get good results from acupuncture, you might want to ask your doctor for a referral to a neurologist. You've got a variety of symptoms, but it definitely sounds like it's nervous system related. I'm not sure if a neurologist would actually be able to help you, but they might at least be able to give you a formal diagnosis. I hope something can help.
Thank you everyone......... I DLed a file last year off the net and I just used it the other day. The file is called "Nervous System Stabilizer - Human Stability Body Health Systems" I listenend to 3 or 4 passes and thank goodness it did not happen that night!
Good diagnosis. If not for Native Vee, then it explains my cheek feeling numb. I'm glad it's not worse for me like they say, as it's not painful, but I hope it doesn't get worse as they say.
All of that is very good advice. While some allergies are very real, the reasons behind them still baffle doctors. Nut allergy is a typical example.
Not so baffling. It's usually our own body's immune system overreacting to a stimulus. That's why for something like peanut allergy the solution is either to introduce children to peanuts early in life when their immune system is at its peak, or to gradually consume minute amounts of the allergen, not enough to cause a reaction then gradually increase the dose. This conditions the body's immune system to not overreact.
BTW, I've read that due to the long ago intermingling of sub-species, we are more susceptible to allergies because some of us inherited an immune system that can't handle it without going into overdrive. Plus with today's pollution and chemicals, no hereditary immune system is ready to deal with it. Some just handle it better.
