just watched it. had no expectations about it... positive or negative and i was really impressed. i thought it was a great movie. if you saw it... what do you think?
It kinda reminds me of all the stuff rat has been saying about the american government. Creating a fake monster to keep the people under control and other stuff like that.
Yeah, I was pretty disappointed with it. At the end it sort of left you with a "Oh-kaaay..."-feeling in your head.
I thought it was a wonderful piece directed towards the length some will go to create a utopia. The scenery was exquisite!
i personally was totally surprized when ivy walked out into the road and there was that cop car or whatever. didnt see that coming. and your right, jugg... it reminds me of that too. i thought it was a really interesting concept. one question though.... what was up with the border patrol?
there had been a few threads...i loved it too...first thing out it reminded us [my brother sister and i] about america and the false monsters...
I wanted to kill M. Night Shamaylan (or however you spell his damn name) for wasting 2 hours of my life that I'll never get back with this wrteched, horrid film that wasn't mildy entertaining or thought provoking in any way. I'm fucked up in the enough to think of governement conspiracies and shit like that. This movie was garbage. I can't decide which was worse. "The Village" or "Open Water" I guess "Open Water" for the sole fact that it was shorter and the asshole characters die. (Although, I did enjoy watching Adrian Brody bite the dust)
I liked it a lot - there seemed to be more behind it than the average suspense movie. I've found if you don't appreciate the underlying theme, then you're limited to bitching about how it wasn't as scary as Shyamalan's other stuff.
the whole poiunt of the movie wasn't to be really scary though...it was supposed to be about Ivy not really anyone else...and it was about her story, and her journey...
