The writer of that article and numerous other people are still thinking inside the box about Trump and not realizing after nine years of him that he doesn't appeal to laws, regulations, and ethics.

Trump will probably never stand trial for the riot he incited at the Capitol.

A good exercise for Trump would have been for him to be forced by a judge to watch video of the violence at the Capitol in criminal court along with the jury.

Trump threatens to withhold wildfire aid ahead of Los Angeles visit

    excerpt:

"Mr. Trump told NBC he wanted to visit sooner than this week, but "thought it would be better if I went as president." Few details have been released about his trip so far, and Newsom's team said Wednesday that they only know about the trip from "sources," according to The Associated Press."

Trump knows more about sentences than anyone. He's an expert at causing them and later commuting them.

The government shutdown that Trump caused because he was upset that the GOP wouldn't give him taxpayer money for his border wall caused a wrench in the gearbox effect.

Banks were unable to proceed with issuing loans for people to buy houses and cars because they needed the services of the IRS (that Trump shut down) to verify the numbers people were putting on their loan applications, such as monthy income.

The housing and auto industries started putting pressure on Trump to end the shutdown and his did after over a month, the longest government shutdown in U.S. history.

A similar effect will take place because of Trump's quest to vanquish federal workers. The effect will be more pronounced that the government shutdown. It will be widespread and last longer than just one month. How long the country can function in such a state is yet to be seen.

The disruption and chaos Trump is causing in the country makes a ripe situation for thieves to take advantage.

A large amount of federal workers will be disrupted, hampered, or will leave their jobs, including those in the financial sector. Attempts will be made to try to replace them with backups. Criminals love that type of situation upon which to prey.

The effects will ripple through the civilian sector.

Only Republicans and toddlers are distracted by dangling shiny keys. It's just another in a long list of actions that doesn't affect the day-to-day lives of Americans.

So far he's attacking the constitution, denying trans people rights, tying up millions in federal grant money, firing thousands (tens of thousands? Hundreds?) of govt. workers, renaming mountains and bodies of water, setting up concentration camps, gutting the migrant workforce the agriculture industry relies on, championing tariffs that will crush an already vulnerable working class, and is now touting the release of 60 year old information.

There is still a housing shortage. First time homebyers are priced out of the housing market, inflation--like the price of eggs--shows no signs of coming down, there is no plan to and no interest in saving California, GDP remains high as wages stagnate, and millions of Americans just had their prescription drug costs skyrocket.

He is doing nothing to address the above and is even to blame for some of it. He's done nothing but sign a flurry of EOs that will be in the garbage in four years.

One would have to be moronic or evil--possibly both--to look at this and say he's doing a good job.

While the feeble minded are like--yay, the JFK files!--I'm becoming more and more convinced that he has to be the next JFK in order for us to survive the next four years.

Despite being a straight, cis, white, billionaire man, his ego is so fragile that he'd rather be known as the asshole who destroyed America than to be forgotten.

And his supporters continue to wave pom poms and invest in knee pads.

Trump thought he would easily win the 2020 election. He was wrong about the economy recovering by the November 2020 election.

It was clear that he was worried about losing the election during the protests and the pandemic in 2020.

Trump enlists attorney general to investigate Biden administration

    excerpt:

"Donald Trump has tasked the attorney general in two executive orders to conduct far-reaching investigations into the previous administration, using the weight of the justice department to pursue what are effectively politically charged reviews into his personal grievances.

The orders the president signed on Monday to end the “weaponization of the federal government” and the “government censorship of speech” in the Biden administration directed the attorney general to review actions over the last four years and prepare a final report.

Incoming administrations always set their priorities in the first days and Trump’s second term is no different from any of his predecessors in that respect. Trump also signed executive orders instructing the department to bring more criminal cases connected to the southern border."

Trump enlists attorney general to investigate Biden administration

    excerpt:

"But the weaponization order was particularly unusual in making the incoming attorney general examine alleged misconduct at the justice department – rather than the department’s office of professional responsibility or inspector general – and then to deliver findings to a political appointee at the White House."

    https://www.nytimes.com/2025/01/23/us/politics/trump-pardon-abortion-clinic-activists.html

    excerpt:

"The defendants in that case were charged with two federal offenses: conspiring against civil rights and violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act, for the parts they played in blocking the entrance to that clinic. That law makes it a crime to threaten, obstruct or injure a person seeking access to a reproductive health clinic or to damage clinic property.

One of the anti-abortion activists, Lauren Handy, was sentenced to nearly five years in prison last year for her role in leading the blockade. Her case drew widespread attention when the police said that they had found five fetuses in her home shortly after she was charged in the case. Other defendants received sentences of less than three years in prison. One defendant, Jay Smith, 34, of Freeport, New York, pleaded guilty and was sentenced to 10 months in prison."

Travel, grant and funding cuts ‘stifling’ US health agencies in new Trump era

    excerpt:

"Researchers on social media spoke about cancer research grinding to a halt as participants wait for experimental treatments and the effects the shutdown would have on universities and scientific advancement around the world.

Funding from the NIH is “the lifeblood of the entire US biomedical research enterprise, which is a cornerstone of the US economy”, Schwartz said. The agency directly funds more than 400,000 jobs, and every $1 spent by the NIH generates $2.46 of economic activity.

The transition to the new administration has created uncertainty in other ways. There is currently no one formally in charge at the CDC, with no acting head named."

OPM directs agencies to quickly comply with Trump’s return-to-office mandate

    excerpt:

"Currently, 54% of the federal workforce works entirely onsite due to the needs of their jobs. Telework-eligible federal employees comprise about 46% of the federal workforce, and they are spending an average of 60% of their work hours in person, according to May 2024 data from the Office of Management and Budget. About 10% of federal employees work entirely remotely."

Scenarios that could keep Trump in office after his second term.

Andy Ogles: President Trump for a third term? Congressman introduces resolution to amend term limit rules | World News - The Times of India

    excerpt:

"Klinkner suggested hypothetical scenarios, such as Trump running for vice president in 2028 with Vice President JD Vance running for president. If elected, Vance could resign, making Trump president again. Alternatively, under the 25th Amendment, if a president declares that "he is unable to discharge the powers and duties of the office," the vice president would serve as acting president.

Another scenario involves Trump encouraging a family member to run for and win the White House, serving as a figurehead president while Trump makes key decisions."

    Trump pleads ignorance.

‘The gloves are off’: Trump appears poised to cash in from his presidency in new ways

    excerpt:

Asked this week by a reporter whether he intended to keep selling products, such as the meme coin, that benefit him personally, Trump said: “I don’t know if it benefited.”

The president said he wasn’t aware of exactly how much he had made from the new cryptocurrency, $TRUMP, despite the coin’s value soaring to billions of dollars, according to CoinMarketCap.

“I don’t know much about it, other than I launched it,” he said. “I heard it was very successful.”

Trump suggests Ukraine shouldn't have fought back against Russia

    excerpt:

"Trump has taken a markedly different approach, saying in the Fox News interview that Zelenskyy is "no angel," adding that he "shouldn't have allowed this war to happen." Trump also said that if Russia does not move to "settle this war soon," the United States would put "massive tariffs" and "big sanctions" on Russia.

Trump has said he would end the war within one day. However, there are no signs that it is any closer to ending."
