what products do not test on animals or have animal fat, body parts, well, any animals product in them. are there aqny websites or certain products you know of? i havnt really thought of this before, but someoner brought it up today. i've heard they stooped putting animals products in the make-up aroung the 80's, but im sure products still do. any suggestions? -rainbow
I know that Toms of maine, toothpaste is animal free and they dont test on animals. They also now make floss and mouth wash! As for the make-up im not entirely sure, i dont use it but im sure you can find out online!
Just check out your local health food store. Mine has a whole bunch of beauty products, shampoos, toothpaste, etc that is veg friendly and also doesn't test on animals. CaringConsumer.com also lists companies that don't test on animals.
Toms is definately rockin'. I use Toms' toothpaste and deodorant, (cinnamint and woodspice) and couldn't be happier with a regular brand. =)
thank you. any other ones? oh, and sorry for my mispellings in my original post. im in too much of a hurry to go back and change it right now, though
I know they don't test....but I bought the orange face wash w/o reading the ingrediants first and it contained lanolin (animal fat I think). They might not all be that way........that's the only thing from Burt's I've ever used.
Lanolin is a greasy, yellow substance extracted from wool. When purified, it is used as a base for ointments and creams, as a lubricant, and in finishing and preserving leather. It is also a constituent of some varnishes and paints. Chemically, lanolin is chiefly a mixture of cholesterol and the esters of several fatty acids. With water it forms an emulsion. As a waste product in wool processing, it is known also as wool wax, wool fat, or wool grease. from enclopedia.com
