The liberal party of canada has resolved to attempt to make ottowa tax and regulate the use of marijuana. Once again chances would seem a little against the resolution, perhaps it could create a shining beacon of reasonable policy for all of Northern America, but that's just the radical optimist talking.

Keep in mind, places like California are nearing a set of laws so incredibly liberal, its basically decriminilazation. If Ottawa is the first place to legalize marijuana, I think its pretty illogical to think some American states might not follow suit...which would be awesome!

If it happens I will move there for sure. There is not one damn thing keeping me here in the states, other than my family (which some of live in Canada already)

Also, this would show that such a situation would work. The ridiculous US policy makers wouldn't be able to nay-say anymore, as there would be a perfect example of decriminalized MJ in Canada.

like the canadian gov will tax the shit out of it.... the decrim thing has been great. they pretty much lay off the small time stoners. so i think buying weed in the 711 for 5 times what i pay now sounds like a crap idea. however its good for people i guess who have a hard time getting there hands on it but still Cigs were 450 a pack 4 years ago now cuz of tax there up around 11 ..sounds stupid to me

They can't tax the shit out of it that bad honestly it don't cost shit to grow a good sized outdoor crop, like at most 50$ to the pound when everythings said and done, and there is no doubt that in mass production they would be able to offer it a hell of a lot cheaper than any dealer could dream of, while still taking u to the cleaners in comparison to cost of production. If this goes thorugh it would only be to their advantage to offer it much cheaper than current dealers as it is the only way to be successful in part of their goal which is eliminating the underground market for it.
