I am retired, age 73. Trump's last year as president my IRA (retirement account) hit an all-time high of $249,000. After just 1 year of "Bidenomics" my IRA was down to about $195,000. It has recovered somewhat and is now up to $220,000 after 3 years of Bidenomics. But my bottom line is that Biden's economic policies have made me about $30,000 poorer. I should add that I voted for Biden in 2020 and am not a Trump supporter. But the average cost of groceries today is 20% more than it was in 2020. Biden can't claim to be helping the poor and neglected when they are paying 20% more for food & groceries than they were in 2020, Trump's last year as president.

Unfortunately the price of FOOD has risen EVERYWHERE on the PLANET.
It's mostly because the price of FUEL has risen EVERYWHERE on the PLANET.

In any case you can't blame Biden cause he has NOTHING to do with the above. He doesn't even control interest rates, which is another huge reason everything is so expensive.

These Macro-Economic things are hardly in the control of any one person, even the President, unless he were to introduce price controls like they did back in the 1970s when inflation was out of control.

Also you might want to factor in the cost of the WORLD WAR that is currently expanding. I think you need to blame that on Iran and Russia.

Stock market Dow Jones and NASDAQ hit record highs this week; the anticipation of Fed interest rate cuts. this should help the 401K values

As expected Trump won in New Hampshire, but it's not all bad news. He took 54.4% (Nikki Haley took 43.3%) while in the Iowa Caucus he took 51%. So it's down to a 2-person race, Trump got endorsements by DeSantis and Ramaswamy, and yet it only gave him a slight increase. Apparently many who supported DeSantis did so because they oppose Trump, and when DeSantis dropped out they shifted their support to Nikki Haley.

The Republican National Convention is 6 months away. The Supreme Court will begin deciding on February 8 if states can bar Trump from the ballot. His Election Interference trial begins March 4, his New York Fraud trial on March 25 and his Classified Documents trial on May 20. A lot can happen, we'll see if Trump's base erodes at all.

I like your optimism, I am skeptical though and still think he is going to win it all and destroy everything

It's hard to be optimistic. I had thought that Trump was ruined politically, and yet he gets so much support. They can't (or won't) see that he lost the 2020 election legitimately and won't admit it. They can't see that he tried to overturn that election illegally. They can't see that he incited the insurrection of January 6 and refused to make any attempt to stop it until it was obvious it wouldn't succeed. They can't see that he's a crooked conman who wants to be king. Or perhaps they can see all this but don't care.

Trying to get Trump supporters to change their minds is like breaking rocks, but we've got to keep swinging those sledgehammers!

Charisma over character. Style over substance. Slogans over having a solid plan of action.

As long as Trump keeps talking the talk they don't care if he's walking the walk!

I forgot to mention Trump will be in court today over the E. Jean Carroll defamation case.
In May 2023, the journalist was awarded $5 million in damages after a jury found Trump liable for sexually abusing and defaming the former Elle columnist. The former president has denied sexually assaulting Carroll at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York in the 1990s.

Carroll's lawyers are seeking another $10 million in compensatory damages and "substantially more" after the former president continued to deny the accusations that he assaulted her, claiming he had no idea who she is and that Carroll was not his "type." In May, Trump called Carroll's account "fake" and labeled her a "whack job" during a CNN town hall broadcast. In early September, Judge Lewis Kaplan ruled that Trump's comments against Carroll were defamatory.

And how does Trump respond? With 37 inflammatory posts on his Truth Social website! He's in a defamation trial and he spends the night defaming her further! Great legal strategy Donnie! Your lawyers should wave a white flag and quit!

Will Trump testify today? And if he does, will he hang himself on the stand?
