A brief introduction. I first found out how much I love going barefoot when I was 11. Back in the "Summer of Love" in 1967. Now retired, I can go barefoot with no issues at all where I live. So that's what I do much to the benefit of my health, both mental and physical. I'm not a foot person but a barefoot person. Seeing other people barefoot is awesome but I have no interest at staring at their feet. Yes, I go barefoot in stores and some restaurants. And no, I don't like cold weather barefooting. Living in Florida in a beach town is perfect for me. And on those occasions when the temperatures drop and uncomfortable on my bare feet, I tend to stay home.
Well I live in Kentucky and it gets cold here. Currently if is 11 Fahrenheit. I discovered barefooting last summer and I love it. It’s been good for me physically and mentally. I want to hike barefoot so I have been working hard to toughen my feet. I can go barefoot comfortably into the upper 30’s like 38,39. I don’t want to loose my gains over the winter. I have even been outside today for a couple of minutes. I haven’t gone barefoot into stores, perhaps this coming summer I will do that. Hiking and walking in the grass barefoot is my main interest.
Warm weather definitely always trumps anything that cold weather has to offer. But, if I were to leave barefooting to warmer times only, my annual barefoot season would only amount to about three months per year. That's how short my summers always are. Even shorter if Mother Nature decides to pull a fast one on me, and just makes it rain the whole time (It's been known to happen). And anyway... do you have issues with sweaty feet? Give them a brief, barefoot snow bath after a long day of wearing sweaty boots, and your feet will experience freshness like never before. A very manageable 5 minutes will do.
Welcome to the forum and living the barefoot lifestyle is awesome . I can’t wait to hear from you and where else you go barefoot
