I know when I go for my barefoot walk and it’s 18 to 21 degrees people always look twice and ask me if my toes are ok not frostbite I tell them my toes and feet are just fine and that my bare feet loves the cold weather they just shake their heads and they keep going there way and I go my way
Been going barefoot a lot more now. Not necessarily outside but around friends and family. My friend came over earlier today and I stayed barefoot when he came. He even took his socks off when he noticed my bare feet! Another scenario, was watching TV with my cousins and auntie and I decided to slip my socks off and go barefoot.
I’m always barefoot around friends and family and out in public and at fast food places and restaurants and at stores . I love my barefoot lifestyle
I think I'm at the point where I think it was crazy that I was shy to go barefoot in front of my parents haha.
I get it my dad always told me I should have been a girl because I go barefoot so much . But I really never liked wearing socks or shoes . When I had a chance to go barefoot I did and being around friends that went barefoot as well was great . I really wasn’t shy of going barefoot around family and friends . But I did have a friend that was but after going barefoot with me and telling him to just act normal and you will see that people won’t even know that you’re barefoot and after two weeks he got over being shy about going barefoot and we went everywhere barefoot and to this day he still goes barefoot and his wife and kids go barefoot all the time . You just keep going barefoot it’s a awesome lifestyle.
Did your auntie say anything to you about being in your bare feet since you mostly kept your shoes on.
One of my best friends are barefoot most of the time apart from outside, at school, etc. Thing is everyone in my school and friend group is really weird about feet and toes, and they make fun of anyone in their bare feet..
Was it more common for girls to go barefoot than guys when and where you grew up? When I was a kid there were a few girls that would, but most wore flip flops in the summer. Guys wore sneakers mostly, or would go barefooted. Only girls wore flip flops.
It was common for girls to go barefoot a lot and boys would wear shoes. Some girls would wear flip flops but they would go barefoot more . I had some girls tell me that they really haven’t seen a boy go barefoot as much as I do . But the girls thought it was great and my friends that did go barefoot though it was normal to go barefoot specially in the summer time. But now that I’m a older I really don’t see a lot of people going barefoot they wear shoes or sandals or flip flops . But for me wearing shoes doesn’t feel right to me or wearing socks it feels so wrong.
When I was a kid boys wearing sandals or flip flops meant your mommy wouldn't let you go barefooted...so you might get mocked. These days sandals or slides with socks seems to be a thing. That...might've gotten you your ass kicked back in the day!
Styles come and go as do cultural expectations. Wisdom is needed to know when and why to conform and when and where not to.
I'll often throw on flip flops when I need to go someplace I know I'll be bounced. Everyone wears them now...but that old "only girls wear flip flops" perception from growing up is still in the back of my mind!
Has anyone actually said anything? It can be difficult to depart from the way you've always done something...
There might have been a time when girls predominantly wore most or the flip flops, shorts and went barefoot, but I see just as many men wearing flip flops, shorts and going barefoot. Old stereotypes are hard to forget and discontinue.
You’re right about that where I live I do see a lot of men wearing flip flops but not many walking barefoot.
