Festivals in BC????

Well, aside from Shambalah does any one know of festiveites in BC for the month of August? thats when i'll be out there, my beau and i would like to camp and party.... how would i get info on say the rainbow gathering?

i believe the merrit mountain music festival will be going on then... i hear it's good times.
definatly check out the vancouver folk festival... amazing good times!

 

i'm going to the folk fest, buts in july, not august so is merrit i think

I personally wouldn't recommend the Merritt Mountain Music Festival, it's mostly country/western music (which I can't stand!) and lots of rednecks. It is a huge party though, so if you can tolerate the tunes and the cowboys, you'll have a blast! I enjoy the bluesgrass festie in Salmon Arm. I can't remember the dates though. The Shuswap area has a few different events like this, but I haven't had the chance to check them all out. There's a huge pow wow on the reserve in Kamloops at the beginning of August (I think). It's an awesome experience. Kamloops also has "Music in the Park" every night during the summer. A different live band every night in the band shell, audience chilling out on the grass. And it's free. That's all I can think of right now.

 

Merrit was a blast. Lots of sex, beer, and allday partying.

On the downside:
tons of girls got raped.
tons of blow.
shitty ass country music.
