Oh gee, I want to relax, but there's no music. What should I do? Oh gee, now there's music, but it's the wrong music. What should I do? Oh gee, how will I ever get my eight hours of sleep without <insert boring band or artist here>?

I don't get it. What's so hard about relaxing? Do you need special music for that?

When I play Doom Metal in the mo(u)rning I sometimes get more subdued than usual for a few hours. Or maybe that's due to other factors, I don't know. Anyway, I can relax to anything, and I can relax to nothing. But most of the time I prefer being my lively self. Well... unless I'm alone. Then I relax. With or without music.

    Fin.

Today, it's been The Velvet Underground and The Zombies... in the last couple of days its been VU, The Beach Boys, and Syd Barrett.

    jack johnson...it's mellow surfer music.

he also has cool movies out of surfing in exotic locales with chill music for the background

I understood that, but I questioned myself why some bands you'd otherwise like would not be suitable for when you feel like relaxing. Good music is good music, no matter what you're doing, methinks.

Okay okay... try out these bands:

    My Dying Bride
    Shape of Despair
    Swallow the Sun
    Novembers Doom
    Cryptal Darkness
    Officium Triste
    The Prophecy
    Theatre of Tragedy (old)
    While Heaven Wept
    Morgion
    Katatonia (old)
    Mourning Beloveth
    Forest of Shadows
    Lacrimas Profundere

(all mentioned bands play atmospheric doom metal)
