Yesterday Israel ordered 1.1 million Gazans out of Northern Gaza. Today the Israeli president declared that there are no innocent civilians in Gaza; “It is an entire nation out there that is responsible.”
I'm willing to bet that when they attack, Gaza will be declared a free-fire zone; no 'friendlies' and no noncombatants.
    They'll kill everything that moves.

Sad.....so sad that, because of the cold-blooded, murdering Hamas, MILLIONS of innocent people are being forced from their homes, no electricity, no running water, no PEACE.

Now, a mass invasion is about to be launched, on the ground, in the air, and on the water.

Recall, when we were children, when a teacher might punish the ENTIRE class for the wrong-doings of one, or perhaps, two unruly students?

This is, sadly, what his happening in Gaza.

Most certainly, we ALL want to see Hamas brought to justice for their despicable, murderous actions, BUT, we DO NOT want to see more innocent people being caught in the crosshairs....what crimes are these innocent people guilty of?

    NOTHING!

How many more innocent people (on both sides) must die?

With all the ultra-sophisticated military technology today, one MIGHT think that the Israeli military has SOMETHING that could detect the Hamas tunnels under Gaza, WITHOUT causing thousands of innocent lives to be lost, and more mass destruction.

A living nightmare, from which one cannot awake from.

And it's only been one week................

I think it's important to remember that such militants control their areas/communities and the ordinary civilian has little choice but to comply. It's easy to think of them all as being involved or supporters but it's seldom the case.
Nobody ever has achieved 100% support, in conflicts or in democracy.

Personally, I think we here in the West tend to forget that the "average, law-abiding citizens" of the Middle East live in a shaky, highly-unpredictable world, a world in which terrorists (Hamas, ISIS, etc.) are forever lurking, forever in the shadows, waiting to strike.

Going back to the conflict itself, it truly boggles my mind that, in the pursuit of Hamas terrorists, that there have been thousands of deaths, vast scopes of destruction, and the demoralization of millions of innocent people.

    Think about this sobering fact:

We have been fighting terrorists ever since 9/11; have we succeeded in wiping out terrorism?

The answer to that question is, I believe, self-explanatory.

It is a futile effort, to be sure; it is like the war on drugs.......another battle going on for decades, that, as we of realistic thinking all know, will never be won.

The odds against us all are overwhelming.

Meanwhile, death, destruction, and widespread chaos continues.......with no end, nor solution, in sight.....

    President Biden:

".....the Palestinian people are being used as human shields by Hamas......."

Where will these people go once the massive assault on the ground and on the air goes full-throttle?

    How will they survive?

What does the future hold for their children, and their children's children?

    How can Gaza ever rebuild?

If it were not for the deadly and gruesome surprise attacks by the despicable Hamas a week ago, I wouldn't have to be typing these words.............

    Hypocrisy:

    - Organizing, supporting, and celebrating the brutal slaughter of their neighbors civilians and children.
Asking the world to shed a tear for their dead children.

    - Criticizing a population who teaches their kindergarten age children that their neighbors must be hated and eradicated.
Being called a bigot for speaking reality.

You can't win a war by creating enemies faster than you can kill them.
The IDF say they've killed 2 Hamas officers they say were responsible for the planning and execution of the attack on Israel.
In other news, at least 2,382 Palestinians have been killed, with more than 10,814 wounded.

    Weapons are the tools of violence;
    all decent men detest them.

    Weapons are the tools of fear;
a decent man will avoid them
    except in the direst necessity
and, if compelled, will use them
    only with the utmost restraint.

    Peace is his highest value.
If the peace has been shattered,
    how can he be content?
    His enemies are not demons,
    but human beings like himself.
He doesn’t wish them personal harm.
Nor does he rejoice in victory.
How could he rejoice in victory
and delight in the slaughter of men?

    He enters a battle gravely,
with sorrow and with great compassion,
as if he were attending a funeral.

    They stood up long ago.
Let's not forget Jesser Arafat and the PLO of which he was leader. Whilst he was detested, he was working for peace until his death.
Then, not long, afterwards Hamas came into the mix, instead of the PLO. (Palestine Liberation Organisation).

Perhaps the oppressor is Israel and post Arafat, Hamas is doing it by proxy?
Perhaps the Palestinians are not in a position to choose who fights their corner and it's better to have someone doing it than no-one because their life is horrendous either way?
    Lesser of two serious evils?

Where there's conflict, there is resistence.
Where there is a political void, someone will fill that void, whether anyone likes it or not.

The upsurge in violence is a consequence of the conflict and the cause is what should be focused on, to minimise/remove it.
Remove the cause or provide a transitional solution and the violence will stop.
Ireland is the best current-day example of that having been done, I think.

Just heard on a news report that thousands of Palestinians could die as hospitals are beyond overwhelmed, medical supplies are quickly running out, running water has been cut, and fuel for generators is rapidly diminishing.

Hamas is telling Gaza residents to stay put, and not to evacuate.

A massive ground and air attack is rapidly drawing near.

Thanks to Hamas' unexpected and grisly surprise attacks last weekend, THIS is what is now taking place:

    SLAUGHTER!!!!!

What in God's name is happening??

HOW can this all be happening??

And we thought that NOTHING could be as devastating and as deadly as the attacks on the Ukraine.........this is a NIGHTMARE FROM HELL for many thousands.....millions....of innocent people caught in a deadly trap.

Where is the COMMON SENSE of the leaders???

    Where is the HUMANITY??

Leading human cattle to the slaughterhouse....................

I think we've all gotten a new meaning to the terminology "ethnic cleansing" with the Gaza war.

Has anyone at all even CONSIDERED a possible CEASE FIRE, or is that notion totally beyond the scope of normal human intelligence?

And, until a little more than a week ago, I thought that there could be nothing more devastating or heart-wrenching than Russia's unprovoked attack on the Ukraine..........

I'm anything but anti-semitist. I speak from the position of two sides in conflict and that the actions of both will never reach resolution. I think that to become emotive and take sides or describe one as terrorist and the other as right, is futile. Objectivity is a fundamental requirement of understanding.

Israel bombing Palestine will create more militants - like a recruiting sergeant - prolonging the conflict through future generations.
Hamas killing Israelis (and other nationals as were killed last week) will do nothing to get a resolution that they want.

Jaw-jaw is the only way forward. Not war war. I referred to Arafat because the road map to peace was agreed during his tenure and which shows that agreement can lead (at least), to relative peace.

Recall the old saying, "shoot first, ask questions later"?

I think we are seeing exactly this as we speak, but on a monolithic scale that truly has become a massive tidal wave of death and destruction.

I would have thought that the UN would have had several emergency sessions by now, to at least TRY to stem the ongoing carnage.

Too many....FAR too many....care little about a war or a terrorist attack......UNTIL it affects THEM on a PERSONAL level........
