Brassed Off Kitchen sink drama about a coal mine in a northern English village may be closing, which would also mean the end of the miners' brass band.I quite enjoyed the final tune played in the Albert Hall. Brassed Off (1996) ⭐ 7.2 | Comedy, Drama, Music
I watched the Mario movie and was surprised to find that it kept my attention throughout the duration. Most movies can’t keep me involved but everything was so impressive; from the accuracy of the transition from game to film to the storyline. It was a great watch and time spent with loved ones.
I watched Black Swan (2010). Natalie Portman was in it. It's about a ballerina who has a Schizophrenic break when she lands the lead in Swan Lake playing the beguiling and seductive Black Swan and pure and innocent White Swan as one person. There is a villain in the understudy ballerina who takes her to a club and they do drugs and they go wild and another villain in the director of the ballet who pressures her and urges her to touch herself which she finds too much and cries which adds to the stress and combust, oh! and another her mother who is domineering and a real Grinch to say the least, a real cold and frigid b****. She starts to see herself following herself. She hallucinates big birds around her and swan wings on her back and scratches at it. She tries to cut into her body to get the wings out. The main character is an obsessive and perfectionist type of person. I thought this movie was so much up my alley because of everything it is. It's going to be in my stack of "Movies to watch often" for a while.
Reservoir Dogs: 1992 I'll be honest I've never seen this movie before, but I'm glad I watched it with my younger brother. All I knew it was some type of gangster type of movie, but I thoroughly enjoyed it. Steve Buscemi was great in it!
Just watched a two part series on the Bison on PBS. Not for the faint hearted….a really disturbing story. We lived about about a hour from the National Bison Range in Montana and the good news is that it was recently returned to the Salish Kootenai tribe. But want a debt this nation owes all the Indians and their descendants whose lives were devastated by the Greedy and wasteful slaughter of the Bison
My kid likes to make me watch horror movies even though they know I don't like them. Two of the most recent were, Barbarian and Us.
I recently watched the documentary: Elephant Whisperers. No annoying English voice-over or narration, just the firsthand account of people telling their own story in their own language.
Grace Quigley on Prime. Billed as a comedy with screen legend Katherine Hepburn and Nick Nolte, what could go wrong? Turns out everything. We turned it off after about 20 minutes as we were getting depressed.
A Haunting In Venice. Better than Death On The Nile, but not as good as Murder On The Orient Express.
