N.S.W. has some pretty cool markets but they are usually pretty expensive so i dont really shop at the well known ones anymore. i like driving up the mountains there is some cool stores up there which youll proably find is better and cheaper than the markets.

They have a farmers' market about once a month in Griffith, same for Deniliquin.Tocumwal has them quite often in Summer and less frequently in Winter.Somewhere in between for the rest of the year.

On the NSW north coast just about every village has a market monthly.
As this is supposed to be a hippy forum I believe monthly markets at Bangalow, the Channon, Nimbin and Byron (this one would be too hot and busy right now though I'd say) would be of interest to people on these forums.
Most of the markets around have a rule about locally made products only, so not so many old clothes or second hand. More locally produced clothes, art, food, plants, and whatever. These four rotate over the month so there's a market every weekend, and other villages or towns have other markets as well, sometimes during the evening in summer.

You have to love St. Andrews. It have a real community feel to it. Everyone looks out for eachother.
It is the only market that I've heard and a public announcement that the police were coming.

The hippie market in Bellingen NSW !... Big and wonderful ! With so many nice and colourful people. It happens once a month but I've no idea when. Check on the web for the dates.

St Andrews market (Victoria) is extraordinary. Small but with a really joyful and love atmosphere.

Glebe market i've been to once..semed busy, decent atmosphere, not so sure about the prices or products etc...too busy being hot in the sun!

I went to Balmain market the other weekend, Sunday, that was a pretty cool one. I didn't get to look much there, was playing music with some people then wanted to go home and sleep! again with the heat :)

Serious, i found some really good bargains when i was there.
There was a guy selling all his possessions because he was travelling to Cambodia, and i bought heaps of second hand clothes for like $1 each, i wear the shirts everywhere.
I got some other stuff which was reasonable priced as well, i spose there is alot of highly priced stuff, but thats just for the tourists, i spose, or people willing to pay money.
But all in all i think the place is pretty reasonable in comparison to other markets ive been to :)
