Are Humans Becoming Dumber?

I think people spend a lot of time and energy trying to control other people, and often I wonder if it isn't to the detriment of trust and faith in society. That is not how you build trust.

 

Are Americans Really That Dumb?

People still believe that Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen, the Parkland shooting victims were crisis actors, the 2020 election was rigged, and COVID-19 vaccines were 98 times worse for people than the coronavirus itself.

 

It's because they are either Willing fully ignorant, live in denial or mentally ill ....or all the above .

I hate to sound cold blooded, but those people who didn't mask up or get vaccinated, are victims of their own doing ....Darwinism at its finest.

Furthermore, access to education and information has increased dramatically in recent years, providing people with opportunities to improve their knowledge and skills. However, it is important to acknowledge that there are social and environmental factors that can contribute to a perception of dumbing down. For example, sensationalized news and social media may provide people with an inaccurate view of the world and negatively impact critical thinking skills.
Overall, the idea that humans are becoming dumber nowadays is a myth, and it is up to each individual to make a conscious effort to continue learning and growing to become their best selves.

I would say human being is becoming vicious day by day.

Now if this keeps up China won't have to pass laws to lower the birth rate since their pollution levels are 4 times the World Health Organizations recommendations. But they are improving. Bangladesh is the worse as far as pollution goes.

My sperm count fell to zero 30 years ago. Vasectomy's will do that.

 

If you look at the US, the Death Rate from Covid 19, lower test scores, defundin of education, lower standards of living, dropping life expectancies, rising infant mortality, stagnating wages, in GOP regions, is beyond doubt that MAGA / GOP Conservatism, failed America , like Communism failed the Soviet Union .

You seem to equate teaching critical thinking skills with Critical Race Theory, an intellectual movement and a framework of legal-historical analysis generally encountered at the graduate school and college level, but used by Retrumplicans as a catchall for the teaching of unwelcome historical facts in public schools. CRT at any level isn't about segregation.

As for your response to my post, which goes back aways: DTS? Drain the Swamp? Drug Treatment Service? Data Transport Services? Dallas Theological Seminary? MY opinion is the curriculum in K-12 in the USA has let their responsibility fall behind. I think about this all of the time. The public schools have been dealt a fatal blow. Some examples are as below:

1. Massive immigration over the past 40 years has resulted in concentrated efforts to teach these people the English Language. (Most of these people {Excluding Asians) Just want to get a job after they graduate from High School and do not realize that education is a life long process.

2. Educators have modified the curriculum to make it easier for them to meet minimum skill levels. A neice of mine never took any real classes in High School. She concentrated on Psychology, Sociology, Ethnic studies Etc. She has never read a book since I have known her. She relies on her cell phone to provide her with all of the answers to life's problems, She cannot understand why she cannot advance in her current job and make a living wage. At 45 she still relies on her parents to pay for all of her living expenses.

3. You cannot blame the educational community, because the fault lies with incompetent Parents. Our society promotes people to breed beyond their capacity to nurture and prepare their children for adulthood. I also blame the religious community for teaching young people to rely on faith in God and de-emphasize the need to exercise their powers of reason. The church in addition attacks science as evil movement to present ideas contrary to God's teaching. I see big changes for the future of this country.

Within the past two weeks there was a adult woman from Georgia made the news because still believes that the world is flat.

At the same time Asian Immigrants are requiring their kids to study at home and hold off watching television and playng with their cell phones. To prove this travel to your local university and see the ethnicity of future Engineers, Doctors and Dentists. I know a coworker who was the daughter of asian Immigrants who worked in asian restaurants to support four children. All of them achieved Masters degrees at Major Universities. Both of my friends daughters are Medical Doctors. Not too shabby. The grand children of an asian cook has two doctors in the family within two generations.

 

I do believe that the general populace are more dumb than ever. Overall I believe they have their heads stuck so far up their phones butts they can't function or think without them.

 

the general populace are smarter than ever before. in no previous time in history were farmers able to chat with any and all available peoples and become exposed to a variety of opinions. as always happens when people are exposed to diversity very quickly they become xenophobic but that goes away after awhile. people when confronted with a huge amount of liberty and diversity of information make their view narrow and constricted for comfort. and so we saw during the q anon debacle. but as that high (sic) wears off people will become more tolerant and previously patriarchal and feudal peasantry will become more aware.

awareness is a burden for those who do not use it for something. people who just do gruntwork resent having to be more aware of the suffering that they create when they see no other option. but things are changing. quickly. it seems slow to the 50 and under populace. we think society will never progress. but people are growing wiser and smarter faster than ever..... from their ranks they will improve their and those like themselve's quality of life. people resent having their living standards upgraded by nonlocals. but locals will improve things now. the internet was the catalyst.

free pornography, wider entertainment options and cheaper and better selection of products make the internet innundate everybody's lives. even those who would normally never use it will save a few bucks, get laid, and eat better and therefore and thusly those people will also reap the liberty and education of the progressives in spite of themselves.
