A nice friendly way of referring to any male from about age 14 upwards is "guy" and possibly "dude". Has anybody got any suggestions for an equivalent for females, i.e a friendly word that doesn't imply anything about age? "Gal" doesn't sound quite right to me.
i call alot of girls dude....i use it to anyone i like....but if they complain i use dudette.....you also have chick which im not so sure about but some people use that
chick, dude, girl, anythjing really. i dont see why girls complain about being called dude though. i dont care if people call me that. dudette sounds gay.
Mmm - You could call a 70-year old chap a guy and it wouldn't sound wrong, but could you really call a 70-year old woman a girl, chick, bird, dudette etc? (Depends on the woman, I suppose, but you see my point?)
This question is too easy. Lass. You can even add words to denote age. "The old lass down the road wouldn't give my football back " "That young lass is giving you the eye!" You people need to brush up on your Yorkshire
it's clearly gals note: "'ows about that then? guys and gals" jimmy saville has never been wrong before...
When you see a guy reach for stars in the sky You can bet that he's doing it for some dolls When you spot a John waiting out in the rain Chances are he's insane as only a John can be for a Jane. When you meet a gent paying all kinds of rent For a flat that could flatten the Taj Mahal. Call it sad, call it funny But it's better than even money That the guys only doing it for some doll.
