I'm kind of new to this part of the forum but since I am a "young hippie" I thought I might as well post this here. Here's my little rant: On the weekend I, along with many other kids, was involved in the drinking of alcohol on a school band trip. One of the parents cought us and when we returned to the school 2 days later we were all intirragated by 2 vice principles and our principle. Now 15 kids are suspended and can not attend Nationals or any other out of school performance with the band. We have a killer "A" band and could have won gold no problem. This is making me soo pissed off. Any ideas on how to get to go? Ways to sucking up to the principle etc. Anyways, that was my little rant. Peace.
You know, I really don't like to be the one to say it to someone, but people need to take resposibilities for their actions, as there is no way out, and I've seen what doing things like sucking up to principals can get to be... one thing leads to another and you have an even more corrupt school board and administration, then you lose your education or make it worse than it already is... Adult actions require the acceptance of adult consequences if it happens. If you weren't doing at at something school related, I'd be taking it differently, but I think you should have known what you could be getting into before you did it. That and alcohol isn't worth having that happen to you, you know. Though, I know other countries are a lot more liberal with it, there isn't much of a choice, but it is sad/ignorant that someone can be drafted and not be able to drink... Though, I can be biased, as I hate drinking and I've seen what it can do to people when they get out of control with it, mixing it with unbelievable amounts of stupidity and a few pills... The thing is that, often, if you put legislature on and regulate things like drugs which a lot of people highly desire, it also raises the mysteriousness of it all and leads to teens sneaking around and doing it. Though, I wouldn't like encouraging my son or daughter to break a law, I believe what stays at home stays at home, so I would be lienient if you did it at home. Not only that, but some parents are more lienient towards it at home, and that's how I found that what most other people go through to drink really isn't worth all the trouble if they were caught outside of their house... Then again, some people wouldn't know how to parent if it bit them in the ass.
Yeah, sorry to say it but honestly I think you're going to have to take some responsibility on this one. There will be other trips. Try not to screw yourself over next time.
