my little brothers playstation is broken

i was wondering if it was jus a common problem but the playstation part where the game goes into....wont go it, it just pops back out
is this a normal, at-home-amendable problem or is it time ot dish out another 150 bucks?

 

Playstation, PS One, PS2? When did you buy it? Some of the older Playstations were recalled for having bad lasers, you maybe able to trade it in for an equivalent under that program.

Otherwise, send it to a licensed tech...might cost $30-40 at most, but still better than buying a whole new console.

 

Maybe now he can go outside instead?

 

i think it could be old, it was given to him b our uncle so we dont have an info packet or anything, and its a PS2....

 

actually he is very active and jus cuz he plays video games doesnt mean he isnt, but if it makes you feel better to talk about a 8 yr old then hey, jus tell me how thats on topic of helping or being constructive?

 

open er up and pull the disc out... You can move the track back and for a few times. That will usually fix any laser problems and or jams.

 

yea, i pushed the button that moves the disk holder thing in and out, but it jus goes out and when i press it do go in it doesnt go in even half way, the disc is already out its just that it wont go in to play the game

 

Just open it up, the track is probably jammed.

 

I think that it is EXTREMELY cool and sweet that you are concerned about your little brother's video game. I have no experience w/video games after Atari 2600 though so I can't help you. But if you PM me I might have a small prize for you.
