Mississippi man pleads guilty to burning cross in yard to intimidate Black family Axel Cox, 24, of Gulfport in south Mississippi, mounted a wooden cross in his front yard on 2 December 2020, officials said. He then doused it with motor oil and lit it within view of his neighbors, who are Black. The justice department said Cox “admitted that he burned the cross because of the victims’ race and because they were occupying a home next to his”. Cox also used threatening and racially derogatory remarks towards his Black neighbors, the department said. Kristen Clarke, assistant attorney general for civil rights, said: “Burning a cross invokes the long and painful history, particularly in Mississippi, of intimidation and impending physical violence against Black people.
I'm going to guess the young lady was just being a major jerk and not making a specific attempt at racism. But either way her behavior is way unacceptable and if unchecked makes an effort at normalization of racism. I hope she learns her lesson and gets her shit together with this and other ways.
"we can be especially proud of the city of Milwaukee (80.2% Dem Vote) casting 37,000 less votes than cast in the 2018 election, with the major reduction happening in the overwhelming (sic) Black and Hispanic areas." Bob Spindell, chairman of the 4th Congressional District GOP and a member of the Wisconsin Elections Committee Murphy’s Law: GOP Leader Thrilled to Suppress City Vote
I lived in a city about 30 miles from Milwaukee in the 70s and it would be hard to find a more racist area then suburban Milwaukee.
I have and will never give racist an attention or support in anyway. Their ideaology and belifs are hurtful and dangerious not to mention ignorant and bigoted. i have step away from family memebers former friends because they held racist opinions. i dont regret it, it was the right thing to do. I am still at a lost how someone can hate a person base on their race. or think they are somehow better because of their race. was is race so important? if you truely understood the meaning of self and of humanity you would be bothered by race.
And Euro Americans on the MAGA side , say people of Color should forget about the past. When things like cop killing, racial discrimination and voter suppression is still institutionalized to this very day . That would be like me saying get over Pearl Harbor, the JFK Assassination or the 9-11 Attack .
Definitely still quite prevalent where I live, unfortunately. It's not as right in your face (like in a public setting) as it once was.. But a large amount of the people I've gotten a chance to know and converse with will eagerly break it out in private. Hopefully that isn't forever.
