http://www.perspectives.com/forums/ OH my gosh!!!! I deciced to go and look and see what some republicans points of view were other than people I know, and I think republicans get dumber and dumber by the second. This guy on there even said that, "pot should stay illegal because if it becomes legal, then my kids run the risk of catching a contact high."
Gosh those are my exact feeelings of both parties - they seem to be converging as Times rolls on...*L*
I always find it curious why some people are so willing to give up some of their freedom for the sake of falling in line with a particular political party or the govenment in general. What makes it even stranger is that they are often the same ones who claim to be the most patriotic and pro-American. In reality, they are at the opposite end of the spectrum of those who founded the U.S. All of the founders questioned the role of central authority and its motives. The founders were actually rejecting the type of behavior that is seen today in groups who have a blind faith in the government.
shaggie, great point, and it's one that should be brought up during EVERY argument with someone who blindly and unquestioningly supports their government.
But don't you know that if you question what's really going on then you are unpatriotic?!?!?!?!? Btw--I am just kiddin.
i voted 3rd party in 2000 AND 2004 (not bragging, just showing my contempt for the 2 party corporate system of global hegemony) :-D
