I know. I have old favourites. But you must keep your feet dry.

People with 4 wheel drive SUVs who are afraid to drive in rain or snow.
I used to drive the PA Turnpike in the middle of winter in a Gremlin and Miata.

I think those of us in the USA can agree this massive winter storm is damn annoying! Here in Portland Oregon it's not as bad as other places, no snow yet, but it's 20 degrees farenheit now with high winds and freezing rain supposed to continue until tomorrow afternoon, followed by regular rain. No plans to go outdoors. I did my grocery shopping yesterday in anticipation of it, so I have plenty to eat. I just hope there are no power outages!

I look out my window this morning and it looks like snow on the ground but it's really a sheet of ice! And the freezing rain will continue until this evening! I'm staying inside today, I don't even plan to check my mail! Now that's annoying!

I say this with all due respect to those who are getting hit by this storm a lot worse than I am.

I hate Oregon black ice, esp. in the dark.

Turns out it wasn't so bad! A thin layer of snow on top of the ice kept it from getting slick. I got out and walked to the corner, decided that was enough and went back in. We're supposed to have warmer rain overnight which should melt away most of it.

In the Puget Sound area we had plenty of slick treacherous ice. We were spared by the lack of wind tho so branches and power lines didn’t come down.
