Proud Boys who scrawled ‘Murder the Media’ at Capitol plead guilty

The felony pleas are the latest by accused leaders of the right-wing extremist group Proud Boys, five others of whom face the historically rare charge of seditious conspiracy for allegedly plotting to use violence to oppose federal authority and the presidential transition.

Those leaders are alleged to have mustered and coordinated the movements of as many as 300 people around the Capitol that day, including some accused of fomenting and spearheading the hours-long riot that forced the evacuation of Congress.

Ochs, 36, a Marine Corps veteran and unsuccessful 2020 Republican-backed candidate for a state House seat in Honolulu, and DeCarlo, 32, of Fort Worth, Texas, pleaded guilty to one felony count of attempting to impede or obstruct Congress as it met to confirm President Biden’s 2020 election victory. The charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison. But each man faces a possible range of 41 to 51 months at sentencing Dec. 9 before Chief US District Judge Beryl H. Howell under federal guidelines in plea deals with prosecutors.

 

Cannon just gave Trump his pick for special master.

 

It’s important to note that Cannon was confirmed after Trump lost the election, in an effort by the GOP to confirm as many judges as possible before the Biden administration took over.

Qualifications were irrelevant and it shows.

Jeez, why doesn't Judge Cannon simply name Trump as the special master?

She's already shown that she doesn't want to displease the person that appointed her in the first place, right? And I'm sure there are tens of millions of voters that think it would be a great idea.

 

Trump wants the government to split the cost of the special master with him.

Lol. Who is he kidding? He asked for it, not the government. The government (meaning the taxpayers) shouldn't pay so much as a wooden nickel. And we all know he won't be. He'll just scam his followers out of money, and they will pay for it.

If he splits the cost with anyone, it should be Judge Cannon.

And if Trump gets off because of Judge Cannon, I hope she ends up in their crosshairs and they end up getting her thrown in prison and the verdict tossed. Its not double jeopardy when the judge is in your pocket.

In their court filing, Trump and his attorneys left out the "Mine! Mine! Mine!"

The filing also didn't accuse the FBI of planting the documents at Mar-a-Lago.

 

Trump could make that a talking point for himself.

He supposedly had to illegally take thousands of government secret documents to Mar-a-Lago to protect them from being abused by someone like Reality Winner who leaked a Russia probe document.
