Well I am insanely stoked about this one coming out. Johnny Depp and Tim Burton are magic together, let alone to be making a trip-fest like Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I'm definately going to be eating a few chocolates before I go to the theater. Anybody else gonna see this one with "enhanced vision?"
I'm looking forward to this film. I do realise, however, that some people are going to be expecting something near the 70s classic (namely people like my mother). I'm looking forward to it, because I'm sure it will be closer to what Dahl actually wrote, a darker more mature comedy, and that Johnny Depp will bring out the character of Willy Wonka in a much more...realistic manner. Not to mention, I love most films from Tim Burton. He's just the perfect director for my tastes.
Yeah, I never was a fan of the 70's version, but I love Depp's acting (or being, if there is a difference) and Burton is amazing... not to mention my favorite types of movies are twisted and dark, sounds perfect to me.
I cant wait for this to come out... I hope its good.. I love the first one... i hope the new one can stand against the critisim it probably will get... But with Johnny Depp it should be able to hold its own.. her always plays great roles
oh i cant wait! i dont care for the original that much, but i love johnny depp http://chocolatefactorymovie.warnerbros.com/
Yeah I don't know though the original one was good. But I think Johnny will do a good job. I don't know about eating any chocolates before I go in, but i will be good and stoned =)
Won't be seeing it, as much as I love Johnny Depp....Willy Wonka gives me nightmares, I can't watch that movie cos it makes me cry. You folks will have to let me know how it turns out!
yah i agree about the nightmares with the old one, but im hoping this one wont be that way. i feel the same nighmarish way about alice in wonderland...wtf? ha!
I am definatly seeing this one with "enhanced vision" This version will be closer to the actual book. Dahl hated the first movie and the way they portrayed his story. Anyone know when it's coming out?
I was joking about watching it on acid or some other kind of drug. not too much of a joke, the movie itself it really trippy and it would be fun to see it on something. I did that with the last Harry Potter movie and it was crazy!! TRipping in a movie theater is fun.
I don't know about this one, kids. I am very partial to Gene Wilder's portrail of Willy in the original, even though it isn't what Dahl had actually invisioned. I appreciate the fact that it was supposed to be darker, but for me, the old one is dark enough. I am not usually a fan of remaking older movies, especially one that so many people have grown up with. While I am a big fan of Mr. Burton's work and, dare I say genius, I just can't seem to get on the bandwagon for this one. This will be one that I rent on DVD instead of going to the theatre. My husband, however, is looking forward to it.
I have been waiting for this one since I first heard about it a few years ago I am ALL ABOUT this movie . I'm sad though because hubby probably won't be back in time to see it (deployedI
I think Gene Wilder is awesome and was awesome as Willy Wonka. I don't think this movie needed to be re-made, like the upcoming The Longest Yard. It will be interesting to see what Tim Burton and Depp will be doing with it though.
I loved the original and love Gene Wilder, but I'm really looking forward to seeing the new one. Probably would not be excited at all if it weren't Burton and Depp. My favorite director and actor!! Not to mention that it will be a bit trippier. I don't know about "enhanced vision" for this one, although I did watch the original once on mushrooms. That was fun!
Oh I LOOOOVE the original, but I also LOOOOVE Johnny Depp, and LOOOOOOVE Tim Burton, and LOOOOOVE the book lol...so as you can see....I am really ALL ABOUT this movie
