Posted back about thirty euros worth of pot with a fake name to my address in ireland, just recieved a letter from Customs to that fake name saying that my package will be routinely inspected within 7 days. How am i going to get out of this?? Do I leave it and play dumb for all my worth as I presume they cannot pin it on me as they will only have circumstancial evidence, but this may involve cops calling to the door asking for a Tom Ryan?? Do I ring them and say there is no such person at my address and to open it away, hoping that this message will make them not bother to take it any further?? Will they bother going after me for such a small amount as I presume every Tom, Dick and Harry chance their arm and send some back while they are over there? 2 previous packages i Sent made it over and have been well smoked at this stage, I presume the post office keeps no record of ordinary post names and addresses! Any advice would be brilliant??
I'd play totally safe and and dumb.. tell them you don't know nothing about them and have no idea who's trying to send you something. If the other two packages got through without problems and for this one you got a letter.. I dunno.. just too risky.. Good luck with it!
Would play it dumb and write it off. Do not contact them as you, that dobs you in immediately. Just forget it and if the cops knock on the door, you could say Tom Ryan was some dude you met OS and is still travelling etc. but he's not a friend etc.
This is why I never post the stuff. Too much stress and sleepness nights for nothing. Anyway, nobody wants to hear that so my advice, say nothing, plead ignorant and act like you have no clue what is going on or who the person is, etc. Seems like you were one of the unlucky ones the customs decided to take a look at. 30 Euros worth is small enough not to cause a serious problem but please let me know what the outcome is. Hope all will be OK for you in the end. Don't fret too much just forget about it all.
oh no, i was going to post something back, now im worried. if i were you, i would not open the package and if they come looking for a tom ryan just be like oh i dont know but we got a package delivered to him, we get mail to loadsa people here its rented accomodation maybe he used to live here, or knows someone who lived here?
The Dutch and perhaps other European countrys now use extreamly effective "Electronic Sniffers" to check virtually every package and letter that leaves the Neatherlands. Mail within the Neatherlands is not sniffed generally. Vacuum sealing appears to work well against the sniffers; but its no longer wise to mail packages home. Even a letter sent first class from Amsterdam may take three weeks to clear customs before its mailed. I sent my mother who lives in Maryland a birthday card from Amsterdam on February 9th. She has still not recieved the card [sent first class] as of February 20th when I last spoke to her.The Dutch have really cracked down on mail inspection for drugs leaving there country because of complaints from numerous European countrys and others. And in case your wondering;I did not send my mother any "Sweettooth" from Barney's again this year in her birthday card...
Hm.. that's weird... I send messages out to Japan and he US every now and then and I don't have the feeling that it takes the post that long to arrive.. and the post to the US even has to be screened in the US prison as well! I have no clue why your mail takes so long, but it's really weird and nothing like my experiences..
Its a strange one, there is no official headed paper on the letter which I am suspicious of, as some of my mates know I havent got it I am hoping it is a wind up but I suppose that still doesnt explain why it didnt arrive! I pretty much got the same advice from ye as my solicitor, play dumb, and hope for the best, he is pretty sure they wont chase me for such a small amount! Still something stinks about it, I have got the other packages each almost three weeks ago and this missing package is the first one I sent when I was over there. Surely in this day and age with terrorism and what not, they would move a little quicker on suspicious packages and can they not also just open them up when a dog lets say is barking at the package? Ah well wait and see I suppose, hopefully they will just throw it away! Thanks for the advice everyone!
There's a possibility that your package actually got through customs but a postman in your country may have decided to illegally open it himself after seeing the Dutch post mark and wanted to keep the contents, especially after you say the letter had no official logo on it. Not all Postmen are that honest and cynical as it may seem many probably do it hoping to find Hash or other drugs even porn. Just a passing thought............
All his birthdays in one so, had a nice Silvia Saint porno wrapped up with the weed in it. Doubt it though, I rang the number on it this morning with the caller ID off and got "hello Customs and excise" before I hung up. Going to go with the story that I get a few of these letters every now and then and just throw them in the bin as they are always bills of ex tenants that stayed in the house. I am going to presume that they have no record of the previous two packages that got through to the house. Get this though, it is like a comedy, got a text message this morning from a guy in Australia who I havent seen in 6 years, asking did I recieve a present from him in the post. Sent me weed for the 1st time after 6 years over there and thinks I should have got it by now! Can you believe that, O woe is me! At least I have a leg to stand on there as I have never been in Australia, unlike Amsterdam!
I think Anne's idea is probably the best. Although I don't know if it's too late for that now or not.
Too late for that, ripped it up and stuck it in a dustbin, some good news though the other bag from Australia came today, so thats grabbed and hidden up in work for a while, so at least we are purely talking about 30 euros that I can be done for. I Think the bag would have been opened on thursday last, going by the dates on the letter. All my friends think I am fretting over nothing, customs here have more problems to deal with than a thirty euro bag from Amsterdam and they think it will be just thrown in a collection bin up there but needless to say I wont be sending it over again as the house could be on some kind of watch list!
Forget the package, 3rd time wasnt the charm. Ive bee ntwice to Adam and think about bringing some back but never do. Just really not worth it. I get good smoke now so going to jail trying to bring it back, too risky. Be safe, take a train somewhere else, mail it from there. peace
