    excerpt:

"Steve Bannon’s lawyers have subpoenaed House speaker Nancy Pelosi and members of the Select Committee investigating the 6 January riots.

Mr Bannon, who once served as former president Donald Trump's chief strategist, was indicted in November 2021 by a federal grand jury for his refusal to comply with a subpoena to testify and produce documents.

Now, he is seeking to subpoena the January 6 committee as part of his challenge to whether the panel was properly formed.

His legal team has subpoenaed 16 lawmakers and congressional staffers to testify at the July trial and produce documents. The subpoenas were aimed at all nine members of the select committee that is investigating the Capitol building riots, three committee staffers and the general counsel for the House of Representatives Douglas Letter, CNN reported."

Two Trump rioters from Texas arrested.

    https://www.kxxv.com/hometown/texas...dly-hurling-flagpole-large-object-at-officers

    excerpt:

"Two Texas brothers were arrested in Katy on Tuesday after they "hurled a flagpole" and another large object at officers before charging at them during the Jan. 6 Capitol Riots, according to officials.

The two men, 47-year-old Brian Jackson and 42-year-old Adam Jackson, are charged with assaulting, resisting, or impeding officers, civil disorder, and related offenses, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Around 5 p.m. on Jan. 6, the Jacksons were "illegally on the grounds" of the Capitol and "assaulted a line of law enforcement officers," according to officials.

"Brian Jackson hurled a flagpole at officers," said the United States Attorney’s Office. "Adam Jackson hurled a large red or orange object at officers and then charged at the line of officers with what appeared to be a U.S. Capitol Police riot shield.""

How Jared Kushner Washed His Hands of Donald Trump Before Jan. 6

    excerpt:

"No matter how vociferously Mr. Trump claimed otherwise, neither Mr. Kushner nor Ivanka Trump believed then or later that the election had been stolen, according to people close to them. While the president spent the hours and days after the polls closed complaining about imagined fraud in battleground states and plotting a strategy to hold on to power, his daughter and son-in-law were already washing their hands of the Trump presidency.

Their decision to move on opened a vacuum around the president that was filled by conspiracy theorists like Rudolph W. Giuliani and Sidney Powell, who relayed to Mr. Trump farcically false stories of dead voters, stuffed ballot boxes, corrupted voting machines and foreign plots. Concluding that the president would not listen even to family members urging him to accept the results, Mr. Kushner told Mr. Trump that he would not be involved if Mr. Giuliani were in charge, according to people he confided in, effectively ceding the field to those who would try to overturn the election."

You're absolutely correct about China or some other country in southeast Asia.

In recent months while prices are soaring everywhere, Mike Lindell has cut the cost of his products by 1/3 to 1/2 price
and yet he's still making a hefty profit

I've known a few people who bought them, back when they first showed up on the market, but said they were uncomfortable, and returned them.

Trump Organization CFO switches up legal team as trial nears

    excerpt:

"Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg has switched up his legal team as the longtime employee of former President Donald Trump prepares to go to trial on charges of tax evasion.

The Manhattan district attorney indicted Weisselberg and the Trump Organization last July following a nearly two-year investigation into the financial dealings of Trump, his company, his family, and his associates.

Attorney Nick Gravante, who represented two other Trump Organization employees who avoided charges in the Manhattan DA's probe, has now joined Weisselberg's defense team, Gravante confirmed to ABC News Wednesday.

"If there was a deal to be reached in this case, there has been plenty of time to do it," Gravante said. "My mission now is to lead this trial team and win, and that's what I intend to do.""

Nearly half of GOP accept mass shootings as 'part of a free society': Poll

    excerpt:

"Despite a continuing wave of deadly mass shootings in the U.S., nearly half of Republicans say that they are something that must be accepted as part of a "free society," according to a new poll.

In the wake of shootings in Uvalde, Texas, and Buffalo, New York, a new poll conducted by CBS News and YouGov surveyed Americans about their thoughts on guns and gun control. One question, in particular, asked respondents if they felt that mass shootings are an unavoidable by-product of a "free society" or if they believed the issue could be tackled.

Nearly half of all respondents who identified as Republicans, around 44 percent, said that shootings like those in Uvalde and Buffalo are "unfortunately something we have to accept as part of a free society." By comparison, 85 percent of Democrats and 73 percent of Independents said mass shootings are "something we can prevent and stop if we really tried." A majority of those who identified as Republicans, 56 percent, said the same.

The sample size for the poll was 2,021 people who were surveyed between Wednesday and Friday. It was noted to have a margin for error of give-or-take 2.6 percent."

Trump set to testify about his business practices.

Donald Trump to testify in New York investigation into his business practices

    excerpt:

"Former president Donald Trump will testify under oath on 15 July in New York attorney general Letitia Jame’s investigation into his business practices, according to a court filing released Wednesday.

His daughter Ivanka Trump and son Donald Trump Jr will also testify.

News of next month’s testimony is the latest development in the three-year investigation into the former president’s dealings after he failed in an attempt last month to stop her investigation and ended up paying a $110,000 fine.

James has said investigators have found “significant evidence” of wrongdoing in the investigation, which has honed in on whether the Trump Organization misstated the values of its real estate properties to obtain favorable loans and tax deductions.

The attorney general previously said her investigation discovered evidence suggesting that for more than a decade the company’s financial statements “relied on misleading asset valuations and other misrepresentations to secure economic benefits”.

The Trumps are scheduled to testify beginning on 15 July, but they have until 13 June to ask New York state’s highest court, the court of appeals, to further delay any testimony. The testimony would be postponed if that court issued a stay."

    Millis has replaced Knudson.

Knudson wouldn't support Trump's stolen election narrative.

Vos appoints GOP attorney Don Millis to serve on Wisconsin Elections Commission

    excerpt:

"Millis' appointment to the Wisconsin Elections Commission comes days before the panel could elect a new chair from its membership. Under the law that created the commission, Millis is one of two people who could hold the job.

The chair of the WEC, which is split 3-3 between Republicans and Democrats, is required to switch back and forth between the parties every two years. Because the current chair is Democrat Ann Jacobs, that means the next chair must be a Republican. The six-member panel includes two clerks who are not allowed to chair the commission, meaning the only Millis or Republican Bob Spindell are eligible.

Spindell has vocally criticized decisions by the Elections Commission, earning him praise from some of Trump's most strident supporters in the Republican Party's grassroots. Following the 2020 election, Spindell was also one of 10 Republicans who posed as presidential electors, leading some Democrats to call for his removal from the WEC.

Spindell had been campaigning for the chair position ahead of the commission's last meeting, but the vote was canceled after Knudson abruptly resigned.

Knudson said it had been made clear to him that Republicans did not want him to chair the panel, a sentiment he attributed to his willingness to speak the truth about former Republican President Donald Trump's loss in the 2020 election. Republican U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson later revealed that he'd told Vos that Knudson had lost the confidence of grassroots Republicans."

Judge refuses to purge contempt order against Trump.

Judge Refuses to Purge Contempt Order Against Donald Trump, as New York AG Sets Deposition Date

    excerpt:

"A Manhattan judge refused to formally purge a contempt order against Donald Trump on Wednesday, following months of bitter wrangling over the adequacy of the former president’s compliance with the New York attorney general’s subpoenas in a fraud investigation.

Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron indicated that he did not want matters to escalate to that point.

“It’s not my goal, my role to hold people in contempt,” Engoron declared at the start of Wednesday’s proceedings.

However, the judge ultimately elected to leave his order in place more than a month later, finding that Trump still hasn’t produced crucial documents to which New York Attorney General Letitia James (D) was entitled."

Then and now: GOP lawmakers’ evolution on the Capitol riot

Then and now: GOP lawmakers' evolution on the Capitol riot

    excerpt:

    SEN. LINDSEY GRAHAM, R-S.C.

Graham spoke emotionally and forcefully the night of the insurrection, suggesting that he would permanently break ties with Trump after the two had forged a close relationship during Trump’s presidency.

“Trump and I have had a hell of a journey,” Graham said on the Senate floor in the hours after the attack. “I hate it being this way. Oh my God, I hate it. From my point of view, he has been a consequential president. But today, the first thing you will see, all I can say is, count me out. Enough is enough. I tried to be helpful.”

Graham voted to certify Biden’s victory and praised Pence for resisting the pressure to object.

In the months afterward, Graham softened his stance, and he and the former president continued to talk.

“Can we move forward without President Trump? The answer is no,” Graham told Fox News host Sean Hannity in the spring of 2021. “I’ve determined we can’t grow without him.”

Then and now: GOP lawmakers' evolution on the Capitol riot

    excerpt:

"HOUSE GOP LEADER KEVIN MCCARTHY, R-CALIF.

On Jan. 13, 2021, just before the Democratic-led House voted to impeach Trump over the insurrection, McCarthy said that “ the president bears responsibility for Wednesday’s attack on Congress by mob rioters.”

McCarthy said Trump should have immediately denounced the mob when he saw the violence unfolding.

“These facts require immediate action by President Trump: accept his share of responsibility, quell the brewing unrest, and ensure President-elect Biden is able to successfully begin his term,” McCarthy said. “And the president’s immediate action also deserves congressional action, which is why I think a fact finding commission and a censure resolution would be prudent.”

Just a week later, McCarthy told reporters, “I don’t believe he provoked it, if you listen to what he said at the rally,” referring to Trump’s speech to his supporters in front of the White House shortly before the assault on the Capitol. Trump had said to march peacefully to the Capitol, but he also told people in the crowd to “fight like hell” or “you’re not going to have a country anymore.”

McCarthy later voted against forming a bipartisan commission to investigate the attack and has called the Democratic-led Jan. 6 committee a partisan sham. He is now appearing with Trump and praising the former president at fundraisers.

Trump never accepted responsibility for the insurrection and has defended the rioters."

Then and now: GOP lawmakers' evolution on the Capitol riot

    excerpt:

    "REP. MO BROOKS, R-ALA.

Brooks is the rare House Republican to have stepped up his criticism of Trump since the insurrection.

The Alabama Republican was one of Trump’s most forceful allies on Jan. 6, 2021, telling the crowd at the rally near the White House before the riot, “Today is the day American patriots start taking down names and kicking ass.”

Brooks was one of several GOP lawmakers who tried to help Trump overturn his election defeat. Brooks said on the House floor after the violence that in his judgment, “if only lawful votes cast by eligible American citizens are counted, Joe Biden lost and President Trump won the Electoral College.”

In August, though, as he was running in a GOP primary for the Senate, Brooks told a crowd that it was time to move on from the 2020 election. Trump didn’t like that and withdrew his Senate endorsement.

Brooks claimed that Trump rescinded his support after the two had a conversation in which he told Trump there was no legal way to rescind the results or hold a “do-over” of the 2020 election.

Brooks is now in a runoff for the GOP Senate nomination, having risen in the polls after Trump dropped him. And Brooks is asking the former president to back him again."
