I second Laugh... I also reccomend dance as a companion, and of course, live bootlegs are always nice.
You gotta go old school K-dub too. Spun is a really good album because it is a rawer Cd. Loop and Stage are good live disc you can pick up @ any decent record store. But the live bootlegs are the best by far. Go check out Keller live if you havent already. His live shows are much different than what you hear on the studio albums.
yes, definitely see him live, outdoors preferably!!! he's so awesome... Stage is a good one to listen to...a great bootleg would be All Good 7-9-04
hahahahahhahahahahhahahaha Loop=old school! try buzz or Spun (or that live cassette that I never remember from Virginia) One listen to Spun and you'll understand why the old timers grunble about this "loop crap."
i just saw him in indy on friday..and it was a heady show.. about how old is keller ?? i know he's been around for quite some time...
He's 34 or 35, he has been around for a while. He started out playing bars in Virginia beach in the mid 90's
Download his set at the high sierra music festival, in '02 from www.nugs.net , in my opinion its a really good mix of his old school acoustic style and his new loop-heavy style. A couple of great dead covers and a couple of his most popular originals too. If anyone has it, listen to his show from the cleveland house of blues last sunday. It was really sick, great variety in my opinion. A couple of very intricate and long loop jams, but some great solo acoustic work too, and even a "terrapin station" on the piano!
I really love his stuff with SCI, but I haven't heard anything else by him. How does that compare to his solo albums?
Keller first played with a band called the All Natural Boys(I cant remeber the exact name). He started playin solo in 91. And anything Dead Keller covers is worth checking out. Haymaker 04 is also a good keller show to check out.
