What do you think of these guys?

When I first got into them I only had one album, well technically it was my dad's, but I listened to nothing but that CD for over two weeks. The Kinks are one of my favourite bands now, and I was just wondering who else likes them. =)

Groovy! I like 'em too! They're one of the bands that Jim Morrison liked. They're kind of a trecherous band once you get to know 'em....

I've got Lola versus Powerman and the Money-Go-Round... it's quite good, but I don't enjoy it all that much...

Yeah they do make some great tunes, but I'm not fimiliar with anything but random Mp3's to be honest. I think I'll have to pick up an album or two.

    Amphetamines.

I have "the ultimate colection", "Kinks", "Kinda Kinks" and "The Kinks Kontroversey". All fantastic in my opinion. Favourite songs anyone?

I went kinks crazy about a year ago.

their glory period (66- about 72) is phenominal. those albums are better than ANY of the British Invasion albums of the period, save maybe Revolver

and if anyone thinks that I'm crazy and that the fucking STONES are better, you are dead wrong and a disgrace to music fans the world over.

I still need to find Mulswell Hillbillies though.

Yeah, the kinks are one of the best bands of the sixties, easily on pair with the stones. Some of my favourite songs by them are 'See My Friends', 'Mr.Churchill Says', 'The Village Green', 'Waterloo Sunset', 'Session Man', 'Dandy', 'All Day And All Of The Night', ...

You should check out The Village Green Preservation Society or Something Else By The Kinks. Lola is not a good album to start with if you're new to the kinks...

one of my favorite bands of all time...I like them better than the Beatles.

I love Ray Davies voice, especially on songs like "Waterloo Sunset."

the 70's Kinks aren't anything special though

If I could never hear the song "lola" again, I wouldn't exactly shed a tear, but they are a great band.

I've only heard one of their songs, but yeah man, they're pretty out of sight, as far as I've heard.

Village Green Preservation Society is by far the best CD I own hands down, and I have a huge collection of classic rock CD's. Preservation act 1 is awsome too. And Something Else by the Kinks, and Arthur! The Kinks are great!

If I were forced to name the single best album in rock history it would likely be Arthur. The only serious competition would be Trade Test Transmissions by the Buzzcocks.

It seems like Villiage Green is a big hit, i completely agree! Gotta be my favorite. Lola vs Powerman is also fantastic 'This time Tomorrow' 'Strangers' 'Get back in the Line' are all great songs from Lola Vs PM.

If anyone wants to listen to Ray Davies, the main man in the Kinks, talk about his songwriting, character writing, and their highest selling American album Low Budget go to http://bit.ly/Wl7zr He is one of those guys who sounds exactly like he sings when he talks (does that make sense?). It's a great interview, any fans, even if you're not a fan of that album, should like it.
