Sure, I admit the us government system in certain ways is crooked, and down right disgusting, but I am grateful for the freedoms I have. Im not a violent person and i wont break the laws of the land. No government system is perfect. All groups are made up of imperfect human's, no matter who you have in power the systems in the world will never be perfect. I am a man for peace. God bless the world and please bring our Troops home safely. I just wanted to get my Truthful feelings out. We need to learn to live with what we have and just try to better the system. I like this site simply for the freedom of speech it gives me. I just wanted to write this to get my true feelings out. Peace and respect to all.:sunglasse

I just want to say one more thing, for those who have lost loved ones in the line of duty. I feel for you, may Gods blessing be upon all decent law abiding citizens.

I am thankful for my freedoms as well... the ones I still have left. That's why those who are grateful for their freedoms should stand up in defense of the ones being taken away. Sitting back and accepting the way things are is not always the best thing to do, although it seems that people prefer those who just keep their mouths shut and never do anything outside the narrow realm of conformity.

i agree completely with that. i used to be proud to live in the U.S., especially when i was younger growing up through school and learning all about the history of our country, and having all our freedoms shoved down my throat. Pride is not a bad thing at all. I think its right for us to be proud and grateful that our country is so much more well off than other countries and have more freedoms than a lot of other people around the world. but instead of trying to make the world a huge United States empire and shoving our history down everyone else's throats I think we should be doing what we can to help other countries. I realize that the war in Iraq is to help those citizens affected by Saddam Houssein, but when our troops go in and bomb Iraqi citizens and innocent lives, including women and young children, I think that contradicts every intention we had in the first place going over there.
The U.S. is a great place to live, but when I hear these things that our country does I begin to lose a lot of respect and feel disgusted about being and American, knowing that other countries hate us so much for what we've done to them.
And yes not to mention there are some people with twisted ways of running the government, and just like we originally said that every government has twisted people. People need to stop complaining and make a difference for themselves if they're tired of the way things are being run. I know there are a lot of people including myself trying to make a dent in the way things are run, but a majority of the people who complain about the government never make an attempt to change these things, even when given the opportunity. So as much as the government is guilty of being ignorant assholes, I think a lot of the people being governed in this country are guilty of being ignorant as well.
Adding this all up makes me feel even less respect and pride of living in the U.S., especially when putting us in perspective of other peaceful countries that are much worse off than us.
But I do understand where you are coming from when you say you are grateful for what you have. I am too as well, I just know that we could make a difference.

Sure i do, I have good days and i have bad days, sometimes to i act in a way that i dont really mean. I have had days were i just need to vent my frustrations but i am learning to control myself better. I have bipolar disorder and have to constantly fight it, but i never really truthfully give up. I have been in heated arguments on here in the past saying stupid things, but nothing i said was ever really ment to be personal.

Yeah well, the citizens of every dictatorship your country imposed aren't very grateful for your freedoms, I imagine.

Everyday when I wake up and its not 9/11, I die a little inside.
