Ok, so, my dad has this nice Yamaha classical guitar, very good sound and everything, and one day it kinda got run over by a car. It was in a soft case at the time, and the car only went over the bottom part. After some tape work, sealing all the holes, the guitar plays pretty well. It looks very ugly, though, and I think some of the sound escapes. How much would it cost to fix it, and is it worth it?

probably cost a big load - so you'll have to ask a repair-dude on the price. decide for yourself if you need to buy a new one or not

    What's the year on it...

Heh, from a luthier's point of view... you should even bother with it...

It's from 98, I think. I don't -need- to repair it since I have my newer Yamaha acoustic, which is far better. And this one still plays fine, as I said.

Well there you go... you're a regular willie nelson...

haha, btw, it wouldn't be worth fixing anyway... a for a re-top or even patches and seals, even if you found some nice solid sitka spruce or engelmann and decided to do it yourself as a project, after buying cam clamps and all of that good stuff, it wouldn't really be worth it unless you wanted something to play with... ya know. Besides... it's a Yamaha so it isn't that big of a loss, as long as it plays okay... I've got a number of gouges, sealed cracks, and a patch on a Martin D-35.... I love it...
