The Ukraine Crisis Part 1 The initial Battles

Absolutely. The Ukrainians are not gonna just roll over and die quietly. West Ukraine has land borders with Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and Romania. Via these, Ukrainian troops in the west can be supplied with fresh equipment indefinitely. This is gonna drag on for months, years even. Ukraine is gonna be a rotten, festering sore in Russia's ass for years to come.

 

I hope so . I hope it costs in terms of resources and coupled with western Sanctions ,he wont have the money to replace losses and expand his force.

This will give Nato a chance to widen the Gap again.

 

Strange isn't it ??? - all these bleeding hearts and tears for Ukraine and the ukrainian citizens, but where were those same bleeding hearts and tears when Israel occupied palestinian territory and built (illegal) housing estates on that land. Hmmmm ???

I need this thread to be restricted to the confines of the Ukraine crisis . Any off topic posts I will just remove .

 

Well after a night of fighting Kyiv is still in Ukrainian hands . Heavy fighting reported in Kharkiv which isnt as well covered media wise .

So what happened ??

1) Did Putin over stretch his supply lines ?

2) Did his reinforcements arrive ?

3) Did he underestimate the Ukrainian peoples dogged resolve with many taking up arms and improvised weapons to fight for their country ?

4) Is the morale of Putins troops at a low level as things dont appear to be going his way ?

Plenty to discuss as things unfold .

AS a separate issue does anyone know how all these western supplied weapons are going to be supplied to the Ukrainians without being seen as an act of war ?

There is also a Curfew in force in Kyiv with no one allowed out on the street . According to the UK Ministry Of Defence ( MOD) intelligence ,the Ukrainian regular troop are looking to find and eliminate Russian Irregular forces such as elements of Spetsnaz ( equivalent of our special forces but not as good like the SAS and US Seals )

Again these vehicles are scouting vehicles from forward screening elements and are very lightly armoured in comparison to those from the main force which do not appear to be there as yet .

 

Just wait for the run on banks by the Russian people tomorrow. That should be interesting.

Unfortunately I think we are going to see a lot worse than that before this terrible genocide act is done by Putin Captain.

 

It looks like it was rummaged after it was taken out. The one in the background looks the same. It looks like it was not just a hit and run by the Ukrainians, but a solid victory in that spot.

That knocked vehicle is driving me nuts . I just cant identify it . It is Russian for sure and its some type of troop carrier . I have pictures of similar vehicle but they have turrets and I doesn't look this has ever had a turret looking at the position of the Heavy Machine Gun at the front . I am sure its a scouting vehicle .

Well they must not have been expecting much resistance if they were running these along unescorted. Or did the fighting force cut and run?
