I don't know, I just can't find a "good land" to venture into. I am told that northern Ontario is a lot better, but it's so far.... Bruce trail is fun for day hikes, but I haven't seen one section of it that allowed camping.

Thats the key word, allowed camping. Many places are off-limits to camping for all kinds of reasons. The state does not want to have to police and maintain these big areas. Part of the fun in off-limits camping is finding a way not to get caught. If there is no car, your'e halfway there, cops and rangers look for cars to show the presence of overnighters.

Get well off the road, find a spot where your fire wont be seen from the road and enjoy!
Let us all know how it works out,
