The commemoration of Trump's insurrection at the Capitol was lacking in GOP attendees.

Dick Cheney comes to Capitol on Jan. 6, says he's 'deeply disappointed' in GOP leadership

    excerpt:

"Cheney then went to the House floor with his daughter -- he has lifetime floor privileges as a congressman who held the seat she now occupies -- to observe a moment of silence.

One by one, Democratic members, including some liberals who castigated him and his politics when he was vice president -- approached him to shake his hand and pay their respects.

Besides the Cheneys and her staffers, there were no other Republicans in sight."

John Dean Explains Why Donald Trump ‘Should Not Sleep Well' Over Jan. 6

    excerpt:

"Garland, amid rising criticism that the Department of Justice has focused on charging rioters rather than those who provoked and planned the insurrection, promised “the actions we have taken thus far will not be our last.”

“The Justice Department remains committed to holding all Jan. 6 perpetrators at any level, accountable under law, whether they were present that day, or were otherwise criminally responsible for the assault on our democracy,” he said. “We will follow the facts wherever they lead.”

More than 700 people have been charged over the attack, 300 of those with felonies, said Garland.

“Those involved must be held accountable. And there is no higher priority for us at the Department of Justice,” he added."

Trump has radicalizmg attributes similar to those of people like bin Laden.

The U.S. public has difficulty acknowledging it after decades of perceiving terrorism perpetrated by overseas elements.

Trump's insurrection was even more subversive than the 9/11 attack which was performed by foreigners that used U.S. domestic resources.

Trump is domestic, used domestic resources, and was inside the White House enjoying his attack on the Capitol. He hijacked the GOP and hit the Capitol, which was likely a target of the 9/11 hijackers foiled by passengers on Flight 93.

He gave away Afghanistan to a terror group that harbored the 9/11 terrorists.

He's been doing all the work of terrorists. It's a dream come true for overseas adversaries.

Capitol rioter who stole Nancy Pelosi’s sign is accused of killing mother-of-two in drink-driving crash

    excerpt:

"An accused Capitol rioter who was caught on video stealing a sign from House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s office has now been charged with killing a mother-of-two in a drink-driving crash.

Emily Hernandez, 22, was allegedly drunk behind the wheel when she drove westbound along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 44 in Franklin County, Missouri, on Wednesday night, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Victoria Wilson, a 32-year-old mother-of-two, and her husband Ryan Wilson, 36, were traveling in their car in the right direction along the eastbound lanes when, just after 7pm, the two cars collided.

The crash caused the Wilsons’ car to spin and plow into the middle barriers in the road, the traffic crash report said.

Ms Wilson was killed in the crash while Mr Wilson and Ms Hernandez were rushed to hospital with serious injuries."

"An arrest report shows Ms Hernandez was charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in death and driving while intoxicated resulting in injury on Wednesday.

At the time of the deadly crash, Ms Hernandez was out on bond on charges connected to the 6 January insurrection.

She was arrested on the new charges just one day before the anniversary of the riot where Donald Trump supporters – fueled by false claims of election fraud – stormed the US Capitol to try to stop the certification of the votes for Joe Biden."

Cyber Ninjas is shutting down after judge imposes $50k per day fine for failure to turn over documents.

Cyber Ninjas to shut down after Maricopa County 2020 election audit

    excerpt:

"TUCSON (KVOA) - Cyber Ninjas, the company behind Maricopa County's audit of the 2020 election results is shutting down.

This comes as a judge said he will fine the company $50,000 a day if the firm doesn't immediately turn over public records related to the audit.

The judge found Cyber Ninjas in contempt for its failure to turn over documents in response to a lawsuit filed by the Arizona Republic Newspaper.

The company maintains it is a private company that isn't subject to the public records law. A representative says all employees have been let go."

    https://www.kgun9.com/news/local-news/spokesman-cyber-ninjas-is-being-shut-down

    excerpt:

"Senate President Karen Fann hired Cyber Ninjas, a Florida-based company with no election review experience, to lead what she described as a "forensic audit." Logan previously worked with attorneys and Donald Trump supporters trying to overturn the 2020 election and appeared in a film questioning the results of the contest while the ballot review was ongoing.

A second public records lawsuit filed by the watchdog group American Oversight is seeking similar records.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Michael Kemp on Thursday denied Wilenchik's request to withdraw from that case as well. He said he won't consider granting the request until, at a minimum, Cyber Ninjas turns over records and Logan gives a deposition."

I agree Mike Pence is no hero, he simply followed the rule of law and protocol.

Before reaching that decision Mike Pence called former Vice President Dan Quayle for some advice on whether he had any legal grounds for not certifying the votes.

Yes the same Dan Quayle who misspelled 'potato' back in 1992...lol..

Yeah, I agree he’s not a hero as well. He was doing what everyone should have been doing, regardless of the outcome, and tell Trump “No”.

Man arrested for assault at Capitol riot now eyes Texas House run | wfaa.com

    excerpt:

"FBI agents arrested Mark and his wife Jalise at their Cooke County home in April. They face several charges, including assaulting law enforcement officers.

"We weren't there to cause any malice," Middleton says.

Videos, however, allegedly show Middleton and his wife assaulting officers on the Capitol grounds.

"That's very, very subjective," Middleton responds when pressed by WFAA about that footage. "That it is very, very much the government's view on it."

The couple's FBI arrest affidavit also mentions that Middleton made a now-deleted Facebook video where he said, "We are on the front lines. We helped push down the barriers."

His wife also allegedly posted the following on Facebook: "We fought the cops to get in the Capital and got pepper sprayed and beat but by gosh the patriots got in!"

"Those are very unfortunate posts," Middleton says when reached by WFAA this week.

Still, Middleton stands by his reason for being in Washington, D.C. on Jan. 6. But why run for office if he doesn't believe elections in this country are fairly operated.

"Hopefully, I can change that," he says. "I've learned from protesting, from doing Trump trains and everything else, that those don't work."

On his website, Middleton describes himself as patriot. He has also advocates for Texas seceding from the United States.

Middleton doesn’t deny that he was at the US Capitol and pushed up against police barricades. But he claims the alleged assault on officers was incidental contact.

He doesn’t believe he’ll go to jail.

"I am exceptionally confident that I will not, nor will my wife, so I'm not even concerned about that," he says.":

    America’s Anti-Democratic Movement

    excerpt:

"Here is an overview of recent developments:

Arizona. Republican legislators have passed a law taking away authority over election lawsuits from the secretary of state, who’s now a Democrat, and giving it to the attorney general, a Republican. Legislators are debating another bill that would allow them to revoke election certification “by majority vote at any time before the presidential inauguration.”

Georgia. Last year, Brad Raffensperger, Georgia’s Republican secretary of state, helped stop Trump’s attempts to reverse the result. State legislators in Georgia have since weakened his powers, and a Trump-backed candidate is running to replace Raffensperger next year. Republicans have also passed a law that gives a commission they control the power to remove local election officials.

Michigan. Kristina Karamo, a Trump-endorsed candidate who has repeated the lie that the 2020 elections were fraudulent, is running for secretary of state, the office that oversees elections. (Republican candidates are running on similar messages in Colorado, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Texas and elsewhere, according to ABC News.)

Pennsylvania. Republicans are trying to amend the state’s Constitution to make the secretary of state an elected position, rather than one that the governor appoints. Pennsylvania is also one of the states where Trump allies — like Stephen Lindemuth, who attended the Jan. 6 rally that turned into an attack on Congress — have won local races to oversee elections.

Wisconsin. Senator Ron Johnson is urging the Republican-controlled Legislature to take full control of federal elections. Doing so could remove the governor, currently a Democrat, from the process, and weaken the bipartisan state elections commission."
