Aurora man arrested after allegedly assaulting police with flag pole at Capitol riot News by: Andy Koval, Jackie Bange Posted: Dec 21, 2021 / 03:32 PM CST Updated: Dec 21, 2021 / 05:27 PM CST Aurora man arrested after allegedly assaulting police with flag pole at Capitol riot | WGN-TV excerpt: "WASHINGTON — An Aurora man was arrested for allegedly assaulting law enforcement at the Capitol on Jan. 6 with a flag pole. James Robert Elliott, 24, of Aurora, is facing charges of civil disorder, assaulting, resisting, or impeding certain officers with a dangerous weapon and entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds with a deadly or dangerous weapon. Federal authorities believe Elliott, also known as Jim Bob Elliott, used a flagpole to assault officers while illegally on the Capitol grounds. Elliot was arrested Monday in Batavia. In the 11 months since Jan. 6, more than 700 individuals have been arrested in nearly all 50 states for crimes related to the breach of the U.S. Capitol."
Jim Bob, meet your new bottom bunk boyfriend Daywhaonne..... Assaulting an officer, that should get him more than the usual sharp spank on the hand. Funny thing, jail and Buffalo (Aurora) in winter are about as much the same..
New report says 'evidence is mounting' for a disturbing reason the National Guard failed to act on Jan. 6 Written by Alex Henderson December 22, 2021 New report says 'evidence is mounting' for a disturbing reason the National Guard failed to act on Jan. 6 excerpt: "Goodman and Hendrix write, “The top officials’ fears were warranted: Donald Trump, his close aides and a segment of Republican political figures had openly discussed the possibility of invoking the Insurrection Act or using the military to prevent the transfer of power on the basis of false claims that the election was ‘stolen.’ But the Pentagon’s actions with respect to the National Guard suggest a scenario in which, on the basis of such concerns, a potentially profound crisis of command may have played out on January 6.” In other words, their report suggests that the National Guard may have failed to adequately protect Congress because top military officials feared Trump could turn around and use the troops to undermine the Constitution itself. Presumably, the Jan. 6 committee is examining this and other lines of inquiry in their largely behind-the-scenes investigation."
Trump lied again recently when he said the slow response to defend the Capitol was due to Pelosi rejecting his desire to have troops at the Capitol.
Iirc, there were also some high-ranking commanders who said they would have refused to follow orders if Trump had used the Insurrection Act.
I think they should have National Guard troops at the Capitol this upcoming January 6th, in case more (or the same) idiots try to do something.
Listening to Flynn, Stone, and Lindell is enough to make anyone sick. Attendees at Trump-allied conference now feel sick — and they're blaming anthrax, not COVID: report excerpt: ""After Oltmann made the claim about anthrax—without providing a shred of evidence—the conspiracy was boosted by other election fraud conspiracists like former New Mexico State University professor David Clements, and Overstock.com founder Patrick Byrne," the publication writes. "The bogus claim was also boosted by QAnon influencer-turned-Congressional candidate Ron Watkins, who called for prayers for those affected." The "Reawaken America" conference was organized by Tulsa businessman Clay Clark and its featured speakers included former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn, Trump ally Roger Stone, and MyPillow CEO Mike Lindell."
GOP Congressman admits regret for Jan. 6 vote to overturn election excerpt: "Only hours after the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol by supporters of Donald Trump seeking to overturn the 2020 election, Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC) voted to back the insurrectionists by voting against certifying the vote. Now Rice is the first Republican to go on record voicing regret for his vote, Politico reported Wednesday. "In retrospect, I should have voted to certify," Rice said. "Because President Trump was responsible for the attack on the Capitol.""
