I think drugs can induce these peak experiences, or at least break down the mind's habitual instinctive natural inhibitioning worries for a small period of time before the minds defenses start up again.

Something that I find solace in is the fact that the universe has given rise to peak experiences before, and that I can consciously seek them out with the knowledge that has been handed down to me from my ancestors.
