It was a Holiday in Massachusetts so I watched the Boston marathon from atop heartbreak hill, followed by the Red Sox playoff game against the Tampa Bay Rays on FS1 Red Sox won and move onto the ALCS
uploaded something to f.a. that was yesterday now or the day before i think. made a large chocklet something halfway between a pancake and a muffin in the micro-wave, just chocklet poweder, pancake mix, plenty of olive oil in the bottom of the plastic dish from some previous small dinner kind of thing. it works when i'm really low or out of, on anything baked in the house. sure wish keolis would settle up with the teamsters and get the buses running again so i can get to a 99cent or food source or tj's. drivers just want to be treated like peers, instead of chattels. they're not even asking for more money. and keolis was doing wierd things with the schedules since the previous strike before this one, and not publicly publishing the changes. the city says they can't interfere with labour management relations, but i fail to understand how that would prevent them from just cancelling keolis' contract, and bidding it out to everyone else.
Just got done with work and waiting in my vehicle for my brother to get done since he is commuting with me today. Then i need to figure out dinner when i get home because wife is gone to a 3- day conference. Usually I grill, but it's super windy and rainy so who knows.
Listened to terrible music while on hold over the phone, trying to arrange rides to various medical appointments.Lots of time wasted, little accomplished. In between calls, house cleaning and cooking, including mushroom processing.
not a damd thing besides breathe and eat and play on the computer, because the buses still aren't yet running again. if employers would treat their workers they depend on, like peers instead of cattle, the whole thing of strikes and unions would never have been necessary. people need to stop lying to themselves, to deny that ever other living thing, not even just members of the human species, being anything less then their own peers, in every moral and logical way. and yes, its not even over money, its about totally illogical and irrational priorities in the management of what exists for the sole purpose of being a public service. as is for another example, the post office, which in no way in hell was created to operate at a profit, but to provide an indispensable service.
Walked down to a local restaurant and ate at the bar then I walked to the local grocery store and got a bunch of stuff forgetting i walked so now I'm waiting on a Uber to take me home.
Cooked again - took a gammon joint from my freezer, defrosted it, studded it with cloves and smothered it with honey, roasted in the oven - it was beautiful !!!
rereading something i love i've read a zillion times, masters of everon. its about a world, how its environment fits together, and some really big cats. can't stand the crap on tv, other then news and weather, not even all of that. can't spend all of my waking time making stuff on the computer. half starving/rationing myself, because buses still not yet running again. need to take more walks before my legs fall off from not using them, long way to any store besides little overpriced alkey specialized stores. do have some variety of food more then to be expected, mostly too expensive for it though. and not really the much diversity as a healthy diet. well that's it. sleep, eat, store and computer, and read. glad i have pension or it would be a lot worse. no bus means no reliabe way to work anywhere either, for anyone who doesn't already have a car, and more internet then i have and a phone.
Took my love's car and then my car through the car wash today and did a Wal-Mart run. Now I'm chilling here on Hip, Watching Hockey and having Chicken Pot Pie and Salad for dinner tonight.
